The only way to get the defective one to work was to physically remove it from the water and shake the contents out myself; otherwise, after a few days, the hot tub would show no bromine in it. This is the second time this has happened (1st from this vendor), but two out of three of my yellow cartridges have failed to work, indicating that either these things are extremely finicky or that these are simply bad products that don't do what they're supposed to do. I've now set my reading to the highest level in the hopes of getting it to disperse bromine, but no luck this morning; the hot tub still shows no bromine.
I've been using the green bromine cartridges for a while now, and it's been great! I couldn't find the green ones on Amazon, but there were plenty of yellow ones, so I figured why not? Well, let me tell you why: they don't work AT ALL like they should! I tried it on the recommended setting of 1, but it didn't work; no bromine was detected, so I changed it to 3. I was unable to use the spa because my blood pressure was too high. As a result, I attempted 2. Again, the water level was too low, and cloudy water began to appear. So. I went through the rest of the pack and tried one of the others. Nope. I'm still unable to get it to work out on its own. I'd only check the spa once a week if I had green cartridges. Now I have to check every day, balancing the risk of adding too much or too little bromine. br>br>Wish they'd sell the green ones; they worked flawlessly.
I bought three yellow and one blue in a package. My roots were on the bottom of my third yellow roll, and my pool's bromide level was dangerously high. br>I removed it, but the bromide was still so high after a week that it remained a very deep purple on the test strip, which is extremely high and causes skin rash and irritation, as well as I irritation. Now it needs to be refilled, which means I'll have to buy new product. br>I will never buy anything from this company again.
The yellow cartridges should be replaced every couple of weeks for a total of 12 weeks. This average is approximately 3 to 1, which is exactly what this package deal is. Price range: Purchasing them in bulk saves money over buying them separately.
Frog cartridges arrived quickly; however, there was powder all over the cartridges and in the box. Customer service was quick to respond and promptly refunded my money. Thank you very much, My Pool Yard.
Set your calendar to replace the yellow cartridge every 30 days; it's a lot better than chlorine. Place a new order when you've used up the third cartridge.
In our hot tub, we have Frog products. This isn't a "throw it in and forget it" type of solution. You'll still have to clean your house and check your chemicals, but you'll have to do so less frequently.
They don't seem to last as long as they claim. I've had hot tubs for over 20 years, and these claims are false. SpaFrog is also known as SpaDog.
