Questions & Answers

What are the chances of these working on Carpenter Ants?

I found Carpenter ants foraging in the garage (very bad news) and I suspect they live in every tree on my property. My main use for this was for my garage, but I also had one extremely nice pin oak tree so I placed 2 of them just inside the garage door and at the base of that two-story tree and within one month there were no ants at all. It gets rid of carpenter ants, so I suppose. The carpenter ants are too large to fit through the holes in the trap, though you can follow the instructions on the package. As opposed to removing the pins, you should push down and rotate when prompted to puncture the pouch inside the cup. After that, carefully restore the cup to its original position and snap it back in The Carpenter Ants will be able to get into the trap all the way around as this opens the trap up completely. My plan is to purchase more of these since it works on almost all the ants in the yard. There are many types of ants, as you can see. Bayer Advance 375A may also be of assistance to you. Usually ant colonies use a protein-based poison, and if the ants do not have sweet tooth, then they take their poison. After the liquid has been emptied from the terro traps, they make excellent bait stations for the 375A.

Do fire ants respond to this treatment?

As soon as I moved into my new home, I faced the worst ant infestation I have ever encountered. Texas was experiencing a severe drought, so they moved here instead. After the first two days, I did not notice a difference and was about to give it a bad review, but now I cannot find ants in my house, not a single one, in fact it has been almost a year and I have not seen a single one either. Honestly, I'm blown away by this stuff. I was also pleased to see that my dog ate two of the yard baits. I was worried he'd get sick but he didn't.

Are they empty if they don't have anything in them? It is not clear that they are different from the indoor traps. ?

Each 3 months the trap needs to be replaced.

An ant colony on our island eats grease. Do you think this is what you need?

The label for this product claims its purpose is to “attract and kill all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, and little black There is something sweet about Terro An ant drawn to protein is a grease eater. There is a possibility that Terro may be selected You should use the bait if you have protein sources remaining in your house they may choose to ignore it if protein sources are still present. While I have never experienced ant problems with grease eating ants, I understand from people who have that the Combat formula works better for attracting grease eaters. By mixing boric acid (a white powder you can find at hardware stores or pharmacies) with peanut butter, you can also make your own bait for grease eaters. Please be sure to keep the bait out of reach of children and animals (I have successfully used boric acid/watermelon bait with sour melon Taking ants for a meal. It, however, may only be used inside, as the sun will dry it up and the rain will ruin it.

A pros and cons list
5/5

Around 100 or so ants) from different locations, that changes everywhere from time to time, some locations more than others, incredibly annoying. A lot of the housing in this area is ant infested. The type of ants we have here are probably
. . . > You're not alone It was Ant bait that 06. 24. 2016

What's good The bait trap is very simple to use and attracts ants very fast after they discover the deadly concoction. The ants just keep coming back to the trap as long as they find the deadly concoction. The following cons In the instructions, it says to push down on the white thin plastic cap to break the seal, then to twist a quarter The white plastic cap is so flimsy and held tight by four clips that it is almost impossible to twist 1/4 turn after pushing down the cap. There is a lot of squishing after the cap is pushed down. Since I accidentally overfilled the first bait trap, you can see some of the concoction dripping out, so you can see ants chowing down like at an Irish pub in the image review. IMPORTANT NOTE Next, I twisted the edges of the aluminium foil so it is pressing as hard as possible, then twisted that quarter turn into the four clips, then twisted the white cap to essentially squeeze the concoction out of the top and force the concoction into the trap. So that the ants find it faster, I carefully tip the trap to intentionally spill a little bit of the concoction out on the ground, and that gets them going faster. The conclusion is It appears to be attracting ants very well so far, so I have given it 4 stars so far. In addition to four aforementioned outdoor traps(probably four ant colonies), I am going to update my star rating if I see that the ants stop coming into the house or the numbers significantly drop at that time. Sorry Antman and Ants.
. . . > You're not alone THE UPDATE IS On the evening of June 27th I put out four ant baits at various spots in the house and I have not seen a single ant. While some trails are starting to thin out here and there, others are still quite dense, I think two colonies are larger than the others. It will be interesting to see how it works after a total of two weeks. At least so far, it seems to be working, at least in terms of keeping the ants out.
. . . > You're not alone UPDATED 7/1/2016 In the house, there are no ants at all that I can see. There are two baits that were most likely leading to one colony, which have started to peter out a lot. Having called the manufacturer, they instructed me for that case to take the baits away and not to use them again for at least a couple of days, as if you put them out too soon, it will just attract more ants. You may need to try new baits if the ants return after a couple of days. It started about two days ago, a neighbor informed me, that they had an ant issue. I noticed a couple of more colonies with the remaining two baits (which I was about to remove) coming from my neighbor's side, and then not long after that, the ants began coming from the neighbor's side again. It will likely take a while for them to peter out, so I have to leave them out longer. It has been stated that the bait will last for about 3 months by the manufacturer. Keeping mine shaded prevents it from drying out more quickly than it ought to.
. . . > You're not alone The ant I noticed on the kitchen counter is the only ant in our house right now.
. . . > You're not alone 7/8/2016
Noticed a lot less(practically nothing) activity, so I contacted the manufacturer and he suggested taking the baits away and allowing them to share what they have gotten thru the colonies, so I complied with his request. We have not yet seen any ants in the house.
. . . > You're not alone We found another trail of ants in a different area, which probably came from the neighbor's house, so we threw out another ant bait. As of now, I have had no ants at the previous baits that I have tossed away. I have put those baits out in the past and I have seen no ants there
. . . > You're not alone A new ant bait was put outside due to the discovery of about 10 scout ants in the bedroom, but no new evidence of heavy trails outside that could point to where they were coming from. Even after using this ant bait, it's still much better than it was before.
. . . > You're not alone A week or two prior to this update, I noticed some ants chewing their way into the master bedroom by chewing through the painter's caulk at the bottom of the baseboard, even though I patched up some tiny holes there. At that location, I put out a Terro indoor ant bait, but it isn't really causing much of a stir. My attention was drawn to a new heavy ant trail outside on 9/7, where a bait that had been set outside just a few days before had been taken away. So I put out another bait outside in the same area, and it's being consumed. I feel as if I'm always fighting a losing Because of this, I have a few ant baits in stock. As well, I upgraded my rating from 4 to 5 stars, since this bait really works - as long as you use it properly, you will not have pests coming into the house.
. . . > You're not alone *UPDATE 11/26/2016* I have been out of town for about 2 weeks now In 5 months since the previous update, I have yet to see an ant in the house even when it rains, and I have not restocked any ant traps with new bait, indoor or outdoor, but I do see a few ants outside and I hope they remain outside.
. . . > You're not alone Update 12/18/2016 Since there has been recent rain, I have ants in my house coming through the caulk around the baseboard in the living room and bathroom, so started using Terro indoor T300B ant baits, and the ants are going bananas for them. An ant colony cannot be found outside. The indoor version of my review is available at this site.

In California, an Argentinian ant is prevalent, so you'll want it gone
5/5

You can't, but by understanding the enemy, you will take steps to keep them out of your house and keep them out of If you live in California, you're well familiar with the small, argentinian ants. However, this type of ant differs significantly from other types. A lot of ants will fight with similar colonies, they live with one queen per nest, and they will avoid repopulating dead nests. This group of guys came from one nest and each of them has the genetic markers that makes them all think they are part of the same nest. Several queens will live in a nest at the same time. And they will move back into a dead nest. So the whole notion of killing a queen or getting rid of her has no meaning. They will go through a process of converting a hatchling into a new queen once the queen has died. Moreover, they are also able to leave behind a scent trail that will last for many years so you can track them right into your kitchen, bathroom or other areas where they have found food and water in the past. The bugs enjoy driveways, crests in the road, and slopes of rock, where they are protected from the rain and do not drown. The cool air in your air conditioned house is perfect on a hot day. I've 'won' many battles in this war of attrition, but it is a war of attrition. I've seen them eat everything from fallen fruit to dog poop. Get rid of excess food outside, and then get rid of water sources outside. If you see a line of ants next, follow the trail to the furthest point away from your residence you can find and lay out one of these baits. Press the top down on the ground, pull out the stakes, and place it on the ground. If you don't want it to get on your hands, don't try this while you're holding it. You could cover it with something to keep the sun off if it isn't already in a shady spot. It may need to be staked. Make sure to check each one you put out to determine whether the ants are still feeding on it, if it is empty, or if it is You should keep replacing the ant traps until no more ants are seen. My fish wouldn't bite any other bait that I could buy, so I tried every bait I could buy and this is the only one they take. The rest of the world is largely ignored. Though they may enjoy proteins, they don't seem to be interested in baits with protein. Sometime I will put a little bit of pet food on top of the white crown it does attract ants, but they will eat the terro while they are Sugar, water, and boric acid are the main components. In effect, boric acid kills the ants by drying them out, but it takes time for it to work. It will then bring it back to the nest and feed it to the queen and to the As described above, if enough of it is consumed, you will kill the nest but it will repopulate as described above. For safety reasons, I confine its use to within about 15 feet of my home. When you have the time, money, and persistence to drive them to the property line, you can achieve it. If you are looking forward to rain next fall (and I hope to see it again after 4 years of drought) you might want to invest in one of those water hoses. Turn a screw If you want to keep ants away from your house, buy an insecticide that kills ants and spray it all around the foundation for a few feet away from the house, then spray The edges of all concrete, as well as big cracks and seams, need to be sprayed. If you spray again in the spring after the rain has passed but before the serious heat sets in, you should prevent the spread of disease. Currently, I am paying about $50-$60 per month to maintain my 2500 square foot house on a 1/2 acre The cost of Terro and the spray is $75 per year. It's well worth resisting the urge to vacuum them up if they get into your house. Place a Terro bait at the nearest point of entry you can find after removing the food and water that they are interested in. This outdoor version of the brush I use rather than the indoor one. The simpler and less messy they are, the more they hold. The bait should be left on the plate until they finish eating it. We may need to wait for a week or more before we receive a response. It will begin with many regular looking ants, then you'll see some burlier ones about 1 inch long after all of those have gone. Size is five times as large and thickness is five times as thick. The queens have come in search of food since the workers are gone, so these are their guards. There's even a possibility you'll see her escorted to the food source. She'll be much bigger and more powerful. In the next photo, you'll see really small ones. These are the latest hatchlings and last-ditch efforts to obtain food for the nest. Our objective is to reduce their population and eliminate their access to your house, as well as make the area immediately around your house unfriendly. They migrate to an area that is dry, warm, and with food when it rains. After the real heat comes out and things dry up, they start looking for a cooler environment with food and water. Within a few years of keeping them out, the scent trail that keeps them from entering the house will cease to be effective and you will have easier time getting them out in the first place. My neighbors decide after a few years to not bother me as much because I'm too much trouble.

It is very easy to use TERRO liquid ant bait
5/5

Carpenter ants will be killed by this. It is very easy to use TERRO liquid ant bait. My Carpenter Ant problem was solved very quickly with this product. For the interior, I also purchased the packs. I used only three of the six ant packs to kill a colony of ants and a queen that set up a home behind my On day 3, we had no ants at all and they have not appeared for over a week. In order to keep the dog from eating the bait, I wrapped a plate around it (left one side up) and taped it to the floor with packing tape. We have an old wooden fence around the house that the ants like to crawl along. I place an outdoor TERRO liquid ant bait hub like this next to that fence as well as one next to the trash can. Since it worked so well inside, I am sure it will also do the same to ant colonies outside (I am just not in the vicinity to see it happen myself). I just want to update you on this It has worked well on the wooden fence and near the trashcans where I've used the TERRO outdoor liquid ant bait. The following updates have been made since It has been over a week since the ants A big thank you to The following update was published on the 11th For the past two months, the traps have not been used. As of now, I have not seen any other ants. Using the comments below, please let us know if you have any questions.
