It's such a simple idea, but it feels so powerful. It works well for them. The Japanese beetles have had a bad year this year, so I'm replacing an empty bag every two days. You can store these lures for several years (and they will last for several weeks). 3 bags will last you anywhere from one week to one month, depending on how many beetles are in your yard. (Having extra refills is always a good idea. ) You place the traps upwind, away from your ornamentals, and the scent of the lure draws the flies away from your gardens, with the bag as their destination. There is an effective way to control Japanese beetles without having to use harsh chemicals.
I've sprayed my trees twice since the end of last month with liquid nitrogen. As I did not see any beetles around my trees after spraying sevin, I assumed the beetles had been taken care of.
