It was totally useless to use this mosquito repellent. How can I possibly sum it up? I have used it four different times since receiving my order and have come inside with multiple mosquito bites on my hands and legs three out of four times. morning, while holding the Thermacell device 6 inches from my shins, I watched in astonishment as multiple mosquitoes flew across my legs and within inches of running onto the front of the device. As the device was switched to 'on', as the butane fuel was flowing, as the mat was currently being heated, the answer is yes. This item is too useless for me to keep. I'm returning it as soon as possible.

In a nutshell, For what I need, it is useless. Since it's advertised that it can be used for both flies and mosquitoes, I bought it. Despite appearing to be a fairly complex device, it was easy to operate. An occasional wisp of smoke could be seen along with the little orange indicator. There was a lot of excitement about this. There were flies crawling on it. It took us hours to find it. Did not try it on mosquitoes and maybe it works well on those.

As a result of the advertising in the Wall Street Journal, I am very upset with this product. They advertise it as an "all natural mosquito repellent. ". I read the ingredients when I get it in the mail. In the table you will find petroleum distillates. Returning it is on my agenda.

Make sure you are careful when buying! Please, DO NOT return this item (or any of the Thermacell products). It is usually no problem to use these units. Amazon was able to supply me with two more of these, so I purchased them there. The only one who worked when they arrived was the one who arrived first. Trying to return the defective unit through Amazon, I saw that there is NO RETURN on this item. Local retailers have a 30 day return policy on these items so they will have to be purchased locally.

As an animal lover, I often get bitten 20 times in a group. I'm that person, so I'm surrounded by people who won't get bitten. My goal is to keep mosquitoes away from me, so I'm always looking for a repellent. To date, I am in love with this thing. I only have to replace the cartridges every now and then as they don't last as long as I had hoped but as long as the machine keeps working, I will keep replacing them. It is also wonderful not to have to cover myself with DEET when I come in from outside, and then have to shower again when I go inside to get rid of the spray. As for holding the unit in my hand, I wave it around my floor every now and then, or I keep it right beside me. It's certainly funny to my husband, but hey, I've had plenty of success.

The package arrived a couple of I have tried to get it to light about twenty times, but it has only worked one time, never again. However, it still does not work after I have followed all the troubleshooting steps in the manual. It appears that I am unable to return the item for a refund on Amazon. This is a terrible product, and this is a terrible policy.
