I used it to spray Concrobium mold control solution into the crawlspace under my kitchen and master bedroom. After a water leak went unnoticed for weeks, my crawl space had become moldy. This fogger did an excellent job dispersing the Concrobium throughout the affected area, which measured 40 x 15 x 3 feet in height. From the crawl space entrance point, the fogger covered the entire area. I sprayed two gallons with it, though one could have sufficed. I have yet to return to the crawlspace to assess the effectiveness of the Concrobium. Because the tank only holds one gallon, I had to reload it twice, each time waiting only a few minutes. On the second gallon, the filter was slightly clogged, but it was still fine. If I were spraying more than two gallons at a time, I would purchase additional filters. br>br>This fogger is extremely capable and does not waste time. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It emitted a powerful stream of ultra-fine mist. br>br>This fogger appears to be well-made, and I expect it to last for years. After each use, remember to clean according to the directions. After you've finished cleaning the fogger, run some clean water through it for a few minutes. The filter must also be cleaned and dried. It will also assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the silicone seal. This fogger will probably last a long time if you keep it clean. br>br>Get it. Some mold has to go. It's fun.
Mold-stained walls and woodwork were present in my home. After fogging, I scrubbed the walls and woodwork with a mixture of trisodium phosphate (TSP) (available at any hardware store), soda ash (also known as washing soda and locally available at hardware stores), and dish soap (a mold-killing solution I found online). Mold stains were easily removed using only Trisodium Phosphate.
I'm on my second unit now, and it's time to replace it as well. The first one leaked almost immediately after it was opened. When the container was filled with liquid, it would seep out where the screws connected to the container, causing the fogging liquid to slowly leak out and drip all over me as I was fogging. I didn't realize it until I was halfway through fogging when I noticed all these little drops all over my pavers and realized it was the fogging juice, which was a pain to clean up because it's oil-based. I returned it for a replacement, which worked fine for a while, but now when I open it to refill the container, the rubber seal falls out and is nearly impossible to replace and keep in place while I replace the lid. It's actually too small for the container's diameter, and attempting to stretch it around the lid will result in it falling off when you turn the lid upside down to replace it. It takes four minutes for me to complete. It takes 5 tries to get it right every time, and even then, the seal isn't very good, so any sudden movements of the fogger cause the liquid to slosh around and leak out of the seal, causing a mess. What a hassle! br>br>I gave it two stars instead of one because it works well, but there are obvious flaws in the build and quality control.
Let me say this: for the $250 I paid, it was a relative bargain compared to what is currently available and available during this crisis Covid- This is, of course, the year 2020. Is it worth the money? Yes, if you don't mind fixing some of the shoddy construction issues: the seal around the fluid tank is pretty bad, the switch and wire connection both leak air like a sieve, and since this operates on a vacuum, air leaks aren't good. br>I was on the verge of returning it, but as a cleaning company with customers who need their facilities sanitized, I decided to take the time to repair the flaws and feel better that it doesn't leak air. The wiring is now back inside the machine with the wire lock screwed and sealed so that it doesn't become loose and wires fall out, which, oh yea, stops the vacuum effect as well as the fogging process. br>So, after a lot of work and tearing it apart, it might now be able to get a UL listing, right? br>Does Chinese Rip-Off make a difference? Off means it's not always a bad product; sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't; but because I need it, I want to thank the Chinese company that made it because it allows me to do my job, pay my employees, and make a profit, which is something good in this day and age!.
Returning is no longer possible. I had to go out and buy a new one. I didn't use a lot of it. It should have lasted a little longer. When I went to use it, the motor abruptly stopped working. Because the unit was still under warranty, I sent it back to the manufacturer. "THIS IS NOT OUR UNIT!" he exclaimed. THESE ARE CHEAP CHINESE KNOCK-OFFS. OFF! I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do to help you. IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE OURS! "They said this company used their photos to sell a knockoff product, and there was nothing we could do about it now. " All of the one-star reviews are true! Pay the extra cash to get the genuine article. As a result, we had to go out and buy a third one! It's becoming prohibitively costly.
The first unit I got wouldn't turn on right out of the box, and the clips holding the fogger to the tank wouldn't lock in place. It arrived quickly after I placed my order. I exchanged it for another unit of the same type. When the second one arrived, I discovered one screw holding the front and back of the fogger together laying in the bottom of the box. I plugged it in and turned it on after filling it up with water. Working on and treating a room for 10 minutes, then turning off, moving to a different part of the room, turning on, fogging for another 10 minutes, then turning off, moving again, and turning on - The NOTHING unit would not turn on a third time and lasted for a total of 20 minutes before breaking. I returned it for a refund and replaced it with a Concrobium fogger, which is almost identical to the one I had before but costs nearly 300 dollars. I simply do not have the time to return these items after each use. I'm looking for a product that will last for years rather than minutes.
