It comes with a built-in igniter.
It repels them for a while; I use it before I start bbqing; it doesn't completely eliminate them, but it helps to reduce them; I use it in conjunction with citronella candles.

Warms up for a minute or two before the chemical changes to fog. Overall, this is a fantastic solution. It takes some time for the element to heat up to the point where the mosquito chemical can produce fog. So, before fogging, be patient and wait a few minutes. There is a lot of fog produced by this machine. Even with a propane cylinder, it's extremely lightweight. It can accommodate both fat and long, thin cylinders. I believe the unit is more balanced with the fat short cylinders. Even with a full cylinder, however, it is still light. It appears to be a very low-cost product at around $100. I'm looking forward to seeing how long it lasts. However, if you have a serious mosquito problem, it will suffice.
The overall concept is appealing to me. We were able to get rid of the majority of mosquitos in our backyard, which was fantastic.
I had high hopes for this product, but after filling it with Blackflag and fogging "everywhere" in the backyard, the mosquitos were gone for about 10 minutes before I noticed them buzzing around my legs and body again. I tried a few times, mostly on very still evenings with no wind, and watched the fog hang in the air and in the bushes. They'll be back before you know it. Maybe it's the product that goes into this fogger that's the problem. Although the fogger is effective, it does not keep them away for long. They just appear out of nowhere. Now I've purchased a 36-inch floor fan. Let's see if they can get a hold of me right now!.
Igniter lasted less than a month. Very let down.
The price is even better when you buy all three items at once, which include the fogger/ propane, three propane bottles, and a 32 oz bottle of insecticide!.
I'd been wanting one for a long time and finally decided to purchase one. When it comes to setup, make sure you follow the instructions.
This Barker is used around my house for the front grass and backgrass, and it works wonders for mosquitoes.
