It's possible that small gnat-sized flies will get through the holes, but I'm guessing you'll catch them on the grid more often than not.

I like how it's shorter than the average swatter when collapsed, so it takes up less space. I really like the finger grips on the handle. What I dislike about this swatter is that there is no way to hang it, and what I despise is that the extension method allows the plastic swat part to rotate, making it impossible to get a good solid hit when used on a corner or the like. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a longer fly swatter because it does the job 90% of the time it does the job 90 of the time it does.
For the extension, I purchased these. We're all short, and it's difficult to make a fly, mosquito, or spider when they're higher up. There were only two flaws. It's possible that if you pull the extension out quickly enough, it will simply come off. SMACKING has a very narrow width. I had hoped for something a little more comprehensive and accurate.
Can be easily stowed away in a drawer (but not with food or dishes).
These were ordered by my husband because they extended and could be used to swat horseflies from the ceiling. He was overjoyed to receive them and admired how long they were. That was their only redeeming quality. . . . When you first swat an insect, the swatted portion will break off. I'm coming back.
We have very high ceilings, and I am only 5 feet tall. Because they extend, these are fantastic. They're with me from one house to the next. They're built to last.
I like how the handle can be collapsed. During our stay in seaside motels this fall, we needed a fly swatter. None of the supermarkets we visited had any available. From now on, every suitcase will contain this shatter.
The flap is quite rigid, so if you're looking for something a little more flexible, this isn't it. They're of good quality and offer good value. I just want something a little more flexible.
These were purchased for a camping trip, and due to the fact that we camp with our horses, they each received at least 300 kills! (There were still a lot of flies on the floor. ) The metal extendable handles are adorable, and the colors are bright and cheerful.
