Is there any sign of the stump remaining in the ground? If this is the case, burning a stump takes a long time. I used a drill to make holes in the stump, which I then filled with kerosene. They were left for a day before being lit the next. It burned for a long time, but I had to repeat the process several times before I was able to remove the stump.
I didn't measure it with a micrometer, but it appears to be fairly thin.
It will. You'd have to unscrew the pieces once more. When I put mine together, I'm not sure if there were three or four pieces.
There is no need for a fire grate with this fire ring.

I wasn't expecting much for the price, but this is absolutely perfect! I haven't lit a fire in it yet (I'll post an update once I do). Weather permitting, I'm thinking this weekend). It's a substantial piece of work. It was incredibly simple to put together! It appears to be very interesting. As you can see in the photos, I built my own personal fire pit. Home Depot sells 13 retaining wall bricks for $1 each. 72 each). I leveled the ground and strewn a light layer of sand over it, then covered it with red lava rocks (4 bags from Home Depot for $5 each). Sand cost $4 per bag. The ring isn't going anywhere, in my opinion. Although it doesn't feel flimsy, I built the brick wall primarily for aesthetic purposes. Definitely pick it up! You will not be disappointed because I built the benches for this fire pit myself. (approximately $15 in lumber)br>br>UPDATE: It was the first time we had a fire in it. When lit up at night, it's really cool. We were fortunate to obtain it.
26th of August 2018: It's very adorable. After setup, it looks good, but mine arrived rusted and addressed to a different name than mine, despite being shipped to my address. It appears to be sturdy enough, and I'll update my review depending on whether it rusts or lasts. The cheap little wrench they give you bent on the second nut, as well. br>br>I'm going to try rust converter and high-temp black paint on it. However, I recently relocated and have yet to unpack my belongings. br>br>Update 15 October 2018: The heat from the fire caused paint to peel all over and the fire ring is 50% covered in rust after just one use. It's still a very nice ring with surface rust, and% It's also an outdoor product (though the company advised me to store it when not in use), and I can't expect it to be made of non-toxic materials for the price. As a result of the rusting material, I'm giving it a four-star rating.
Any pops or sparks that may fly out are contained by the additional screens on the sides. With only a handful of identically sized nuts and screws, putting together the fire pit is a snap. The instructions are included, but they are not required to construct it; all that is required is some common sense. Although it comes with a cheapo wrench, the fire pit requires a screwdriver to construct. Overall, I think this is a good buy for the money, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice fire ring.
It looks fantastic. It's incredibly simple to put together. br>br>It came with some rust already, as others have stated. I purchased a can of black high temo rustoleum after reading the reviews. This should cover the rust spots and keep them from rusting any further. br>br>For $30, I can't complain too much.
It rusted after only about 6 uses, and one side completely melted. Although the price was reasonable, there was insufficient demand for this product. It's way too thin. Years ago, I purchased the same item from Home Depot, which is rusted but not melted.
I like the overall look, and the mesh openings allow for better heat flow toward the feet and more airflow to feed the fire, but I'm sure it will rust quickly, especially if not stored away from the elements when not in use. It would be best to get a high heat coating spray, such as bbq paint, to give it an extra seal, as others have suggested. The provided bolts, screws, and wrench were one of my pet peeves. If you use the wrench to tighten the nut, it will bend and become useless, so keep one on hand. With medium tension, the screws will easily strip, so be aware as you tighten them. It would have been more sturdy and easier to put together if it had been a hex head bolt with a hex head nut, but perhaps they will switch in the future. I'm not sure how well it will hold up to rust and repeated use, but it's exactly what I wanted for looks and to control some of the popping embers so far. It took roughly 15 minutes to complete. It only took me 20 minutes to put this together.
Based on other reviews, I also bought a can of Rustoleum high heat spray paint, thinking I'd paint it before using it, but the paint on the fire ring is still in great shape. Not that I won't have to touch up or repaint after a few uses, but I'm very pleased with this purchase, and the price is excellent!.
It's a lot bigger than I expected it to be when it's put together, which is perfect! I'm very pleased with this product, would buy it again, and have even recommended it to my friends and family who are looking for a fire ring! Exceptional!.
