I liked the fire ring, as it is of a simple design that fools you at first.
The packaging was a little disappointing due to all the corners being damaged. It was good that the nuts and bolts packaging were taped to the ring panels so that nothing fell off during shipping. A 38" ring can seem confusing before you assemble it. In addition, after the panels are attached, they appear to form a three-lobed shape (like a wankel engine cam). However, once the bolts are installed, it round out pretty It is best to wear gloves and to wear grungy clothes when you are unpacking and moving You can expect that the panels will contain some residual oil on them that you will want to clean off using your fingers There are small sharp edges along the jet cut images that you should be aware In case you are handy and have time, you might use a sanding burr on the surface or use files to clean it We used black 2000 degree heat paint in one can per panel from HD (Krylon). It took some assembly, and my husband assembled and assembled the fire pit area. After digging a very shallow hole, putting some sand in it, placing this ring directly on the ground around the hole, and then placing a ring of small river stones around it, all we had to do was put together a ring of small stones.
