The internal measurement is 58". The external dimension is 64". The pit is very large and very nice. We suggest spraying both internal and external surfaces with weather resistant primer, after the surface is dry, you make one fire and roast some s'mores or have a family fire. You can do this after the surface is dry.
You do not need a bottom for it.

The fire ring should be large and can hold a lot of fire. The value is great, and it works well.
