Selected User Reviews For Fire Sense 60949 Full Length Outdoor Flame Patio Heater Vinyl Cover, Large, Multicolor
In comparison with other outdoor heaters I've bought, these don't appear to heat as well but I'm sure they'll warm the place enough and they look great. Three of these are on my restaurant deck, and they have drawn the attention of everyone. There will be three more at least next fall. For durability, I only gave four out of five stars, because the door hinges on two of them are already bent and inoperative. The reason why I need to use these is that they are frequently used. The fire is easy to light, it looks good, and it provides a good amount of.
It does what it claims to do Designed to keep rain and wind from causing my flame patio heater to fail. I was especially impressed by the fact that it was protected during one of the worst wind storms I can remember. In order to decrease the risk of scratches, the material is made of a strong vinyl that is lined with a soft felt material. There is no way I can guarantee that the heater would survive a brutal Wisconsin winter outdoors, however I will keep it covered in my garage while it is being stored. The heater cover is easy to "assemble" and put on, but you will need a step-ladder to pull it over the To use it, you screw together a 4-piece steel rod, slide it into the pouch by the zipper to stabilize it, so you can zip it up easier. I was so glad to find this item, because I had been searching for a cover that fit the dimensions of my patio heater but could not find anything. It was further alleviated when it turned out it was also going to cover the patio heater I got from Menard's since it was not a Fire Sense brand. I am extremely satisfied with this.
A great fit for my outdoor heater, which I bought this for. Since the first night I put this on, it acted as a parachute. This means that you are better off leaving it exposed to the elements. With a full propane tank and a full wind, the heater in NJ tipped over breaking the glass tube the first night it blew. Keep your money in your pocket.
My deck would look fantastic with this! There is something about this product that adds a lot of ambiance to a nighttime get together or even just sitting around sipping Unlike most reviews, this heater does not provide a lot of heat when really cold. However, when temperatures fall between 50 and 70 degrees, it provides great heat A temperature of 60 degrees is perfect! I would highly recommend this product.
The January 2015 update is as follows It appears that the cover did not last very long as predicted. After being exposed to sunshine (for years), the vinyl cover became brittle and cracked in the top corners where it hung over the heater's edge. Considering that the zipper only went part way up, it was also awkward to put on or remove the cover. During the winter, I removed the cover, and it was badly cracked that I had to throw it away. A new cover (Hiland brand), which also has a full-length zipper, has been purchased It has a maximum-length zipper, and feels more flexible and durable than plastic and vinyl. In a separate review, I'll discuss how I like it after trying it out for I bought the cover in order to protect my new flame heater from the elements when it is not being used, as well as to prevent leaves from settling into the concave top (a design flaw that will be discussed in a separate review of the heater). Below are a couple of comments that are not apparent from the product description on this cover
1) even though it is described as 'heavy duty', the vinyl cover feels light in comparison to my vinyl BBQ I am not a fan of the stitched seams. **There are two problems with this zipper 1) the zipper only goes halfway A part of the cover extends from the bottom of the cover upwards. 3) There were four small threads It was provided with poles, but there were no instructions as to where these were to be mounted. The zippered pouch turned out to be adjacent to the pouch I found after some searching. To make it easier to open / close, the poles provide a little rigidity alongside the zipper. 4) Since the top of the heater is nearly 8 ft high and the zipper only goes a short way up the cover, you have to lift the cover up to the top of the heater before you can slide the cover on and off. Getting the cover off the floor was easy because the pole that's attached to the zipper helped me lift it up. The overall design of the UI is not that great, but it gets the job done. In my opinion, it will last just a few years before the vinyl cracks due to the weather. Nevertheless, I do not have enough history of this user to verify it.
(More on this) I bought this cover in 2013 but by 2014 it was already tattered Unlike metal, vinyl is not suited for keeping out high UV radiation from the sun, as it is where I live. However, if you are going to store your patio heater indoors in a warehouse, then this cover is all you will need. You might want to go shopping for something completely different if instead you have to leave your dish out in the sun. This unit seems stronger than other units (review from 2013) This is a difficult product to use because it is so tight, but it is also really good because of how tight it is. My observation is that the sharp edges of the top screen of the IR patio heater could damage the cover, so I would recommend carefully covering it.
You won't be able to stay warm with that. It has more of a decorative purpose than a functional one. The wind can easily blow it over if there is a good one After the long glass tube breaks, you are screwed (i. e. I encountered it first hand).
Using it will certainly protect your heater since it sits snugly when it's on. There's nothing wrong with that. However, it is truly a delight to get it on. A few chairs high enough to lift you high enough so you can reach the heater from several angles are required. To put it on by yourself is quite an art, and I have yet to find a class offered by the community that will enable me to It is very helpful to have an additional set of hands.
