Unless you're at least 6 ft. tall. A tall person. It is easy to install a step stool. In order for the heater to be protected for the winter months, the spare parts would need longer-term protection. I have been able to replace the thermosthats and ignitors with generic branded parts and the shell of the heater is standing up to the times. This is proof that our faithful heater deserves to live another 15 years. Using sturdy material is a great value. This is a highly recommended book.
A patio heater was already purchased from Lowes (Garden Treasures. ) I bought this after. I found this top to fit well (you have to be very tall to fit the cover on) Due to the fact that this is a generic replacement for multiple heaters, it does not fit like a glove. I would say that it can fit a patio heater of at least 6 feet I bought one about 8" taller than the one I currently have. It doesn't look absolutely perfect, but it gets the job done.
