It doesn't seem likely to me. To me, this does not appear to be Mercury, which is a reflective silver color. In addition, mercury is an incredibly expensive liquid that most of its like-for-like alternatives are just as suitable.
There is no point to these. 2 packages were returned yesterday in an unusable condition.
It stands at 77 degrees, within one degree of the digital thermometer's reading. This is probably due to a faulty lower reading unit.
The range from 30 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit

Despite being accurate, the temperature was not precise right away, at least by five degrees There is a temperature difference of 10 degrees. Despite trying to reach out to the seller to discuss compensation or a replacement, I haven't heard anything back, so it is too late to return it now that it has been over 30 days. This was disappointing for me, as I was able to use it.
I'm not sure if mine is defective or if the positive reviews are really true. I'd advise against investing in this unless you want to try and lock in the temperature each time.
This bear's IRT temperature is the same as the temperature of my Raytek infrared non contact. A Raytek reading is only able to read the surface of a body of water, which will result in an incorrectly high temperature. My other thermometers, which were all used 6 inches under the surface (like this bear), read about 5 degrees lower, including the Pentair line thermometer near the pump (for the actual pool temperature). Those complaining about the bear thermometers may simply have experienced questionable calibration practices in the factory which explains why those complaints have been consistent.
88 degrees is the temperature in my pool, it says. 88 degrees is not an appropriate temperature for my pool water. There is probably more like 78 degrees in the air. A defect is evident in it, and I tried returning it on Amazon, but it claims that I must contact the seller as they will not accept a return for "flammable" materials. As I wait for the seller's response, I emailed him. This would be a bad choice since you might not be able to return it if you receive a defective one. My order would not have been placed if this information was posted clearly before hand. If I cannot return it, it is a waste of money.
This is a higher reading. The only thing this needs to do is give an accurate temperature, but my does not.
We threw it in the pool and went swimming. It appeared that the temperature of the pool was lower than what the thermometer indicated. Putting this on top of the probe food thermometer, I then put in an expensive probe food thermometer that measures in 1/10's of a degree. Temperatures were almost two degrees cooler after the probe was inserted. In addition, it has one job to do, namely read the water temperature accurately, but it does not do that. But it is consistent, so all I have to do is take two degrees off the thermometer reading.
Purchasing polar bear thermometers is a frequent occurrence for me. For the first four years, the pool was continuously used. As long as I got the pool heated to the temperature it read, it was accurate. A very hot summer day may see temperatures rise to 50 degrees or higher. As a result of the polar bear tilting and floating on its side after an impressive period of use, I decided to buy a new Polar bears are very bad at reading temperatures, as can be seen by this bear's faulty reading of the pool temperature. Despite the fact that the register shows about 5 degrees above the temperature of the heated pool, this There is disappointment in my heart. It's a good thing I hadn't thrown away my old polar bear I'll just let it float on its side for a while.
Since we have been using the turtle thermometer in the pool for over two years, we have found that apart from the sun fading it, it is in good shape. was looking for something different for the pool this year and when I saw this adorable polar bear, I thought it was just what I needed! A few weeks later, my husband discovered that the thermometer was full of water and that mildew had begun to grow inside of it. Unfortunately, the product is not recommended at all and I am very unhappy with it.
