It has been a few days since I started using it. There is no doubt that the reading is correct.
I do not think so. It appears mercury thermometers are pretty much gone, with the exception of maybe scientific uses

We have tried another thermometer and though it looked similar to the Davespa unit, the glass tube seemed to separate from the backing, rendering it There are two of these, one for the pool and one for the hot tub next to it. The unit appears to be easier to read and the tubes seem firmly attached. I visited both devices for accuracy using our Etechcity laser thermometer. The hot tub unit gets violently jostled a lot but is in good shape. I expect the big test to come when the grandchildren come.
In the 11th hour By the two-month mark (2nd swim season), the glass tube had dislocated from the degree chart and was rendered inoperable. It had rotted away after a few months due to rain and dampness and had turned to dust. Despite the fact that it wasn't supposed to float vertically, it did. I am not at all impressed with this. From a rating of 3 stars to a rating of 1. Earlier this year, the numbers on our old pool thermometer faded and we had a hard time reading them. A bit shocked when I dropped this new one next to the old one, the new one shot up to 3 There is an increase of 4 degrees in reading over the older My test consisted of bringing it into the house and placing it next to a digital thermometer on the I checked a few hours later and found they were reasonably close, but the Davespa temperature was still a few degrees higher on the inside at about 75 degrees. It has been over three weeks since I left the old and new thermometers in the pool. There has always been a 3 rating on the Davespa The temperature has risen by 4 degrees. It is also 4 degrees higher than the inline temperature sensor used by our pool equipment. Having said that, there is another quibble- it does not sink back to a vertical position when dropped back into the pool. It floats on the surface of the water in the sun on its side. There is a small hole near the top where air can escape and the device sinks vertically, but it never works unless I grab it, shove it under, and shake it. Although it is a minor issue, I think it should be addressed since that is exactly what this device is designed to do, and it does not do it. So now I have an almost 11 dollar item that is questionable in its accuracy and fails to sink to the ground.
been using the product for about a month now and it seems to be a good fit for me. The thermometer floats on water and is a standard device. There is a string attached to the product that can be tied to a ladder or anything else you need. My guess is that it is accurate(have no way to know for sure), but it displays hotter when it is hotter and cooler when it is Only complaint I have is that it tends to float on its side quite a bit, so it will not stay immediately straight down in the water, and it can be difficult to read when picking it straight up from the water, but it is fine after you wipe it off.
Our pool thermometer was put in the water as we figured it would adjust in a few minutes. However, it read 90 degrees and did not adjust. A few hours later, before going to bed, I checked it again and it was still there. Our thermometer read 90 degrees yesterday, we shook it, moved it around the roof, then left it over night. This morning it was still the same. There are 90 degrees in a circle.
Simple to read and attractive, this thermometer is a great addition to your home. In some way, I guess the ones with whales or whatnot on top are cute, but this one has a sleek design.
96 degrees in the pool on a cloudy day prompted me to pull it out to see what it was like. In my fridge, the temperature is maintained at 38 degrees (digital readout), so I put the fish in there for three The only temperature it would register is 49 degrees. That means it was 11 degrees off at that temperature. After that I had the house temperature set to 73 degrees and it registered 94 degrees, which is about 21 degrees off. Since the error is exponential, I can't use basic math to figure out my pool temp. It wasn't really my intention to learn algebra to find out how cold the water is, I just wanted to check the pool temperature. Now it is too late for me to get my money back. Saving your money is the best option.
Easy-to-read thermometer I am using to measure the temperature of the lake on a regular basis. I found exactly what I was looking for at a price I could afford.
After all, thermometers are pretty simple, and this one achieves the job for the most part. When I was done reading it, it would just float on the surface of the water after I pulled it out of the after. My air holes were not large enough, so I tried drilling them out. But it didn't fix the To prevent the weight from sliding, I tied a string around the bottom of the jar. I solved the problem, but I would recommend getting a new thermometer that will perform properly.
