There are four of them in a package, each with its own remote - Set them all up, though, and they'll all turn on with a single remote control - I had to fiddle around a little to figure this out, but only one remote is required - I'd also recommend investing in rechargeable AA batteries as well as a charging unit for them - Regular batteries are only good for one night.
Without the remote, there is no way to turn on the lights.
I've used them in my boat on several occasions, and if you use lithium batteries, they'll last a long time.

If you have a high-end boat and don't want to drill a bunch of holes to mount lights, these are ideal quick interior boat lights. I simply use 3M heavy-duty mounting tape, which works perfectly! If you have a light that isn't working properly, remove it, chuck it, and replace it in two minutes.
So far, I haven't sunk. The first impression is: I prefer it to the original model made by a different company. The fade now has a more natural appearance. The good news is that this is true. The disadvantages are as follows: When the batteries are inserted, they automatically turn on and begin alternating colors in sequence mode. And four of the four were out of sync. Threads can be a pain to work with. "Smooth" is similar to "flash," except it only uses three colors. This is not a smooth ride. "Strobe" is a single-color fade that takes a long time to complete. Nothing seems to make sense! Both my old and new computers have loose batteries. They are, however, Nickel Metal Hydride, which is a thinner version of Nickel Metal Hydride. In any case, I can't find all of my AAA rechargeable batteries for Halloween, and my wife wants another eight pack, so I'm off to buy another brick of NMH batteries. Then go ahead and purchase them; you will enjoy them.
We put these in ice buckets and they withstand the cold as well as being submerged. So far, no one has died. They are something we use on a regular basis. I strongly suggest it.
Whatever it is, it should last longer than a few months, especially when it is taken out of the box for two holidays and the same issue persists. These weren't submerged in any way; they were simply placed behind flower pots and a screened lanai, so they weren't wet at all.
My camping buckets were lit by the lights. The remote is very helpful.
I bought a set of eight, but only four of them could be used because the others were cross threaded and the backs couldn't be removed to replace the batteries. To turn on or off the light or change the colors while it's drying, you'll need to be right on top of it (1 foot to foot and 1/2). If you put it in the water, it will float on top, but you won't be able to change the colors, turn on or off, or dim it. You'll have to take each one out of the water and change the color or dim it before putting it back in. Unless you plan on placing them around the pool deck where you can walk right up to them to change the color or dim them, they are not worth the money. We didn't bother with them because they weren't as described and we couldn't use more than four of the eight. We had better luck with a low-cost version that we could set up outside and then simply take in when we were finished. I only got the light and the remote, no suction cups.
I am in possession of sixteen. One of them had to have brought water into the house - It turns on, but you can't change the color or turn it off with the remote. The only way to turn off the device is to remove the battery.
DISAPPOINTED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT! This is the second time I've ordered these lights, and the majority of them have failed within a few days on both occasions. I also did not submerge them in water. Some lights refuse to turn on, and others refuse to turn off, remaining stuck on a single color! Clearly, this item is of the poorest and most inexpensive quality! Do not make a purchase! It was a complete waste of both time and money. This item must be removed from the market! br>I'm extremely unhappy!.
