I was awaking one morning when I heard a loud clatter on the roof, so I ran outside to see what was going on. The three large herons, not reindeer, were the cause of the sighting. Their turn at eating my fish had me watching as they glided over to my pond. On that morning, I covered as much of the pond as I could with chicken wire in an attempt to repel the birds and preserve the fish. However, the birds just walked on top of the wire and went fishing.
