I couldn't believe how well Crocagator actually worked! Goldfish live in a small fish pond I have with a few dozen fish
4/5

I was awaking one morning when I heard a loud clatter on the roof, so I ran outside to see what was going on. The three large herons, not reindeer, were the cause of the sighting. Their turn at eating my fish had me watching as they glided over to my pond. On that morning, I covered as much of the pond as I could with chicken wire in an attempt to repel the birds and preserve the fish. However, the birds just walked on top of the wire and went fishing. I now was in a state of despair. I looked up what predators I could use and was only able to find a plastic Owl, a cardboard Coyote (with realistic fur tail), and this plastic Crocagator. As I already had an Owl perched on a post over the pond, I knew that was not going to work, so I had to choose between a Coyote or a It made sense to me to use the gator, even if it didn't work, at least I would catch something. My next step was to read each review carefully. Most people were satisfied with the product. However, there were a few issues. One was the size, some people complained that That's just about the right size for a small pond. Any bigger, and the neighbors would freak out. Other issue was that the attachment point RTV sealant sometimes leaked a bit, but that could easily be fixed with a good sprayed coating. The statement was true (it was). As far as modifications go, I simply removed the fishline anchor lines from the body and My goal was to ensure movement of the head, so I only left the anchor line. During a recent pond dip, I secured the head anchor line to a metal pipe elbow with tape. The object is perfectly stable and moves smoothly. A security camera was set up to watch the pond, but it wasn't necessary to do so. In the vicinity of the pond, no birds flew. Despite three weeks without Big Bird, he is still nowhere to be found. A few small goldfish have been spotted, so all is not lost. It is also a plus that the chickens like to free range around the pond without being scared by it My overall opinion is that I'm glad I bought it!.

I am not able to make it It is not recommended to buy this if you are using it as a deterrent for ducks! When the baby ducks hatch, they swim in the pool, and we dive for the alligator
3/5

A duck made a nest beside the pool with babies, and once they hatch, they jump in the pool. The plastic of the alligator was also broken as one of the chains came out. You can save yourself some time and money by not doing this.

I AM SCARED RIGHT NOW
5/5

Those who are unsuspecting are a prime target! That sounds like a lot of fun! The living hell poured out of my girlfriend and her daughter when they saw this! After a few hours, the pool temperature was finally checked, and they found it to be 40 degrees below 50 degrees. I blasted you! This will FREAK YOU OUT and SCARE you! I love it! As I write this, I am still laughing. It did not seem real to them, so they kept back but would go back and forth because they didn't know for sure. How do I react? Laughing caused me to double over in pain, and now my stomach hurts from all that Let's hope I get some more unsuspecting guests soon!.

He gets caught up in a swimming pool skimmer
3/5

This deterrent is used to deter area ducks who are known to deface my deck with their droppings by visiting my swimming pool. The alligator was pulled up into the skimmer in less than 5 minutes. Consequently, I draped the tail over the edge, the head floating in the water, and the head anchored with a heavy stone to the deck. The ducks returned to their roost the next day. After adding two reflective hoolah hoops to the deck with the alligator, I added two more hoops. It's been weeks since we've seen any ducks. However, they claim to be suitable for use in swimming pools, but I think it works better in a pond without skimmers.

This is far too This kind of alligator will be more likely to be scared of Alligators can grow up to 10 feet long, but this is the smallest you'll A live alligator about this size has been held by me In a bathtub it is cute, but even in a small pond it is lost
3/5

And because it is too small, it does not scare anyone. It has been reported elsewhere that wood ducks do not fear alligators, so that is another factor worth considering, even if the alligator were very large. It appears some of the comments on Amazon are about leaks and LED eyes, and these are not about this item because it is completely solid and does not have However, it really is a tiny thing. A very, very small size. The owls were mounted on PVC pipe so they would move in the wind in the past. I did not have to deal with woodpecker damage to my home when I used their service The saying "out of sight, out of mind" applies of course, but I needed a boat on each side. I have now purchased a hawk for my current situation, and it seems to be effective. Another variation of the hawk is on the way to me. You need to make sure they move about a little Despite this, the alligator has been of no help.

Defend your yard from ducks with a Darth Gator
5/5

My pool is surrounded by one of these floating alligators I bought last year in order to keep the ducks at bay. According to the person who said they tend to stay in the skimmers, I can understand why. I hate it! The gator would not come out of the swimming pool so I put it on the outside edge Worked like a charm! The skimmers don't get caught in them, and the ducks won't go near them. My ducks have been flying over the pool for several days now, but none have gotten in. As a result, I have placed three bird houses around What a miracle!.

In less than one week, the paint peels off in the pool and the pieces come apart due to weak split rings
3/5

After using this product for about two to three weeks in my pool, the paint is peeling off

My wife says the paint started peeling off earlier
So it looks as if the paint only lasts for about one to two For the paint to retain its value, it must remain intact for several years. Split rings, for example, are weak, as they consist of simply metal rings and because of that allow the other link to break free very easily. It is a pity that this product did not live up to expectations.

Our swimming pool is now deterred from being inhabited by local ducks due to the presence of this animal
5/5

We have designed the decoy to deter ducks from landing in our swimming pool by fooling them into thinking it is their home. In addition to looking good, the gator behaves in a very realistic way when attached to a mono leader and placed in front of a water valve. Even though I did have to replace the chain hardware linking the head, body, and tail, and will need to touch up the paint at the seasonal change, I am very pleased to report that there has been no duck in the pool in the past few.
