Having to hang a long and fairly heavy wind chime on a tall and really sturdy shepherd's hook was quite the challenge. It's finally possible to hang my hummingbird feeder on a hook tall enough! My solution was to add the ant moat to the hook and hang the feeder from there. The 18" squirrel baffle keeps squirrels, ants, and yellow jackets out, and only hummingbirds can take advantage of it! My only request would be for more prongs to go into the ground, I'd like 4 to be able to do it.

The company's nbsp The squirrels must scale the pole successfully in order to reach the bird feeder because it is tall enough. There is no need to apply grease or oil if they are able to do so. Food-grade mineral oil is what I use, so that the squirrels are not poisoned. Because of this, you can watch it quite entertaining. My oil probably needs to be applied at least every other day, but it works well. I have a super short clip for you Earlier in the day, it had tried three times!.

I really like how this pole looks and how easy it is I hung a 14 inch flower basket on it, but over time, the pole began to bend forward. The baskets get very heavy when they are watered, and the pole leans every time. I had to attach the poles to the fence behind them with brackets. These poles would have looked terrible if they had been out in the middle of a flower bed bending forward like that. Hence when it says "holds any weight" - it is referring to the fact that it does not hold weight. That is true, but there is no mention of the pole bent under heavy loads.

This plant has a diameter of 20 feet! A heavier gauge steel was what I was looking for. My heavy glass hummingbird feeder is quite large and round, so I was not sure what diameter width I should choose. I can assure you it is THIS! Fortunately, it comes as a whole piece, so you don't have to screw it in or assemble it. It's thick and sturdy enough that you could threaten to hang your 10 year old kid by the shoulders from it if he was I love it! Joking aside, it's exactly what I needed and will last longer than any shepherd's hook that you have.
Will be buying more of these when they run out.

It was still necessary for me to use a virus-scanning program I do not know if it is sturdy enough to keep squirrels out of the bird feeder, but it appears to keep them out.
