No, there isn't a neck on this ball. Its bottom is small and flat.
The bottom opening is an irregular circle with a diameter ranging from one to three inches. between 1/8" and 1" 1/2". It's also worth noting that the manufacturer's tag advises against leaving it outside in sub-zero temperatures because it could crack. This is a well-made clay sphere with a thick glaze on the outside. However, the interior is unglazed, which means it may crack in cold weather. During the winter, I bring mine inside and put it on the mantel of the fireplace. Because the hole in the bottom prevents it from rolling, it can also be used as an art object on a flat surface without the use of a stand.
They won't be able to because the sphere is solid, and no light will be able to pass through it.
It was also darker than the one I bought. I, on the other hand, enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, my was completely shattered when I received it. I grabbed a shattered piece in order to see at least a portion of it. "What a dreadful pity that something so lovely broke," I thought to myself. " I made plans to return/exchange my items, but it won't happen right away. For one thing, they are not going to replace it. You are required to place a new order with them. Additionally, you will receive a refund once THEY have approved your request. Yes, they do send you a form stating that you will be eligible for a refund. It took at least two days to complete this task. Then I had to ask for a prepaid return label, which was supposed to come with my "refund approval. " I couldn't see it attached anywhere, so I politely requested a new label. That was given to me within hours, and it was a one-of-a-kind globe. a one-of-a-kind, but I'm terrified of ordering another and having it broken as well. Because the box was in so many pieces, it looked as if someone had lifted it above their head and slammed it to the ground. The attention to detail was superb. If I knew I could try again and it wouldn't break, I'd do it right away. It's so depressing to be so eager to open something only to discover that it's beyond repair and must be discarded. What a pity.
This globe for stargazing is beautiful. I've never seen one so nice, but I had to dock the company a point for using styrofoam, which is being phased out in more and more places. There is a biodegradable, edible alternative that Alpine should look into as soon as possible to avoid harming the environment.
I bought it for the outside but ended up using it on an indoor lanai table because I liked it so much.
Because I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a second one. It's heavy enough that it won't blow away in the strong winds of Hawaii. In my opinion, it's better than it appears in the picture. Outdoor natural dirt and water spots, I believe, will be well concealed.
The colors, as others have stated, are extremely deceiving. The overall color scheme is more brown toned, muddy in appearance, and not as "bright" as shown.
As you can see, the globe has a lot more blue than the advertisement picture. br>A buyer described a smashed globe as teal in color in another review. br>There's a lot of color difference here. br>I believe the seller should remedy this by updating the image to reflect the current product.
Gorgeous! The size is large, and the color is exactly as it appears in the photo. Consistent color was an issue for me. To keep it off the ground, I purchased a stand for it.
It's a true work of art!.
