We experienced no structural problems with it during the cold winters in North Carolina. The night time temperature was below freezing, light was visible, and there was ice on the roads. Michigan winters are severe, but not as severe as those in the Midwest. It was disappointing to see the colors fade. The fade may be caused by something else entirely.
I apologize for taking so long to respond. You won't get an exact answer from me. My stand was too big, so I stretched duct tape around it so that it sat in place. It is approximately 9 inches across. Even so, it is a beautiful piece.
As long as it sits on a stand, there is no need to light it I appreciate it
A standard gazing ball base is included with the piece. You may not be able to use this if your stand has a smaller hole.

So, I cannot give an opinion on durability since I just received my globe yesterday. As a result, this ball is stunning. I love the way it came out and how well it turned out Presented in a secure manner. While I was wary of ordering something so fragile, UPS isn't likely to put a piano in it, so it should be fine unless UPS places a piano in it in the truck. I love the stand I ordered separately, as well. The part of my garden where this plant would be short was needed. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
It is absolutely breathtaking! I am so glad I purchased this garden globe. I am in awe of the way the petals of this flower reflect the sun rays. It's so nice to see a garden globe like this.
Mother's Day has just passed, and I bought this gazing ball for my mom. It arrived in excellent condition and is absolutely gorgeous. Due to the fact that it was missing the rubber ring that seals the opening at the bottom so that it cannot allow water to enter, I gave it 4 stars for durability.
As a present for her, I gave her this item. The window is in a sunny place that allows the reflected light to come into our living room as the time of day changes. It has a lovely look to it. There are a few scratches on the glass pieces, but they do not seem to impact the light reflected. I like it.

It's the most beautiful gazing ball I have ever seen. I bought a stand for it, filled it with fairy lights, put it in the fire pit for summer, and I just love it at night and day.
