Is it possible to make a longer rain chain by combining the rain chains?

We supplemented with a third chain that had been purchased specifically for that purpose. It's tricky because the ringlets that make up the chain are made up of two rings welded together at the top and bottom to form each link. Cut the top or bottom weld in both directions, bend it open a little, squeeze it back together inside the additional chain, and glue it with JB Weld epoxy. Although it appears to be difficult, it only takes a few minutes to complete.

Is it necessary to use the adapters during installation?

I used two lengths of chain to extend from the gutter to the ground and into a 5 gallon nursery pot filled with gravel and drainage holes. buried with a rim that is level with the surrounding ground The spike connected to the bottom of the chain must be used to anchor the chain into the bucket. At the gutter, replace the downspout with an adapter that is inserted into the gutter hole, and then the chain is suspended from that hole by a pin that spans the hole. So, yes. I made use of all of the add-ons and adapters available. Silicone adhesive will be needed to hold the adapter in place and keep it watertight in the gutter hole.

Is the adapter included in the package for installation?

No, you'd have to get it on your own. An aluminum gutter adapter or a black gutter adapter can be purchased for this type of chain.

This is a nice chain, but it should come with a gutter adapter

The quality and appearance are excellent. It's a little difficult to understand the attachment - To open and then close the metal clip, you must literally bend it. I ended up purchasing the adapter as well because it was causing a lot of splashing. For the price, it seems like they should include everything you'll need to get it to work properly.

You won't be able to install this without making modifications if you already have an opening with a "tube" where an existing downspout is connected. The description claims that it includes a cross bar, and the photos show one, but the one you receive is not the same. I didn't buy the rain chain adapter because the connecting "tube" is riveted to my gutter. I'll have to go to the hardware store to get the parts, which I find a little inconvenient.

A rain chain for a downspout from a rain gutter

So I attached this chain to a downspout on our rain gutter that was not properly draining. As a result, I installed a new downspout as well as this chain. It now drains well and looks fantastic when there is water flowing through it. It freezes in the winter, forming completely cool ice all the way down the chain. When it does that, our family enjoys looking at it.

When it's just raining lightly, it's fine, but when it's pouring, it just pours, regardless of the chain. The same thing has been said by others. Rain chains hold a special place in my heart because of my time in Hawaii, and while that magical experience was not replicated, I'm glad I have one. It's possible that it'll rain again at some point in the future. br>br>I just added a new photo because it started raining again (happy days in LA).

I've bought a lot of Monarch products over the years. This company's quality and service are outstanding. I strongly advise you to purchase them. They are quick to respond to any requests, and they always follow up with any questions I may have. I recently purchased the rain chains and basin, and I am very pleased with them. I recommend using these on your gutters if you want to give your house a unique look. Downspouts are far inferior.
