I want to inform you that I purchased my rain chain fairly recently, so it is still shiny but I've heard that it will turn green over time.
The extra links were then removed from the chains after I connected the two chains. The process is very simple. A picture would be helpful, but I'm not certain how to do it.
Cutting a hole in your gutter and placing the connector part in it is the only way to make this work. I do not think that this will work for gutters that already have built up holes.
Having a downspout with an adapter installed already in your gutter will do just as much good as installing one of the two. Though the copper rain chain looks nicer, it will attach to the aluminum adapter already attached to the chain.

However, it is mostly just a lot of The video below shows the quick version. Then we will get you one like this.
In torrential levels of rainfall, I bought a different one but it didn't work. The rain splattered all over. As it turns out, the size and shape of the cups make a difference in the amount of rain that runs As it turned out, I chose this chain and it's much better than the other I had bought. My future plan is to add the other rain chain to the gutter, but for now this one is taking care of the rain that we have had so far this year on the East coast. This chain has allowed me to see rain fall through it during many different types of rain. There are occasional showers amid torrential downpours, and it has held up well so far. This is definitely a better rain chain than the last one I used.
The design is also nice and it was so well made I bought another one when I realized how well it worked. Adding the downspout holder to the location where it resides is also easy - just screw it in All tools are not needed to attach, but it is suggested that the mounting holes be opened. Definitely worth the price!.
It's the cutest rain chain ever! Our house is an old Victorian and I've always hated that we have a gutter in the middle of the roof. After watching an episode of Ask This Old House in which a rain chain was installed on a Victorian house, I decided to give it a go. The chain die was placed in the large, decorative pot to disperse the water away from the foundation, following their instructions precisely. I tried it and it worked great! Finally, I was able to get rid of the gutter that had been running down the front of my house for many years.
There is no need to worry about gutters even if you don't have them. Despite its age, my 99 year old house does not have gutters, but there is a place where the water drips off the roof at the corner of the back yard. A rain chain that I purchased to prevent rain water from flooding the flower bed below and it has been a great investment as it protects the mulch and flowers below. My plant hooks look similar in appearance to Shepard's hooks. I mounted them to the area under the roof since I do not have gutters, and this seemed to work well.
As well as being fun to watch, they're also very entertaining.
As part of my new gutter investment, I wanted the traditional downspouts along side the porch. These ones look great, one on each side. I've already had 3 passersby comment on how cool they are, as well as ask where I got them and what they were I was surprised how large they were at first, so they are even better looking than the pictures indicate.
The number 8 was not received by me. The rain chain is only 5" long, only 8 cups are present, and there are no top connectors. However, it is insufficient for my needs and I won't be able to use it. Since I didn't look at it until I was ready to erect the back porch after my construction was finished, I can no longer return it. It has expired since I saw it only after my back porch construction was complete. If I could have a replacement or a complete rain chain, I would appreciate it very much.
