No loops! I was concerned about the same thing. Nails on cats and dogs aren't a problem. These rugs are extremely soft, and they look great by the front door. It's just that it's not big enough. There is very little thread loss, even after washing. For absorbency, I'd give it a 3 out of 5, but it's still a fantastic little rug.
I didn't wash my rug because I keep it in the garage near the front door.
I've had this rug for about three months and it hasn't produced any lint.

I'm on my fifth kitchen doormat. The dog and everyone else has wet feet, and this mat not only keeps them dry, but it also looks nice; unlike thicker mats that are "water traps," you can throw this in the washer/dryer and it will come out looking brand new. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but it's still looking good after a couple of months.
I was unsure whether or not this rug would work, but it does. I have three dogs, and when they first came in, there were puppy paws all over the place. Now I don't have any. This is something I've told all of my friends and family about. The only negative feature is that it doesn t slip around 60% of the time but I wouldn t call it non slip either. Aside from that, I'm going to get another one for my other door. Also, for future buyers' benefit, do not dry it in the dryer. I had a second rug that I ruined by throwing it in the dryer.
Our bathroom door is directly in front of the shower entrance, so we needed a thin rug. This was ideal, and when the door is opened, it does not catch on the rug. It has a pleasant appearance and a pleasant feel to it.
My family enjoys hiking and our shoes are frequently muddy when we return home. I needed a heavy-duty rug to catch dirt, and this rug's description sounded promising. It is, in fact, very thin and resembles a bath mat in appearance. Muddy boots and hiking shoes aren't a good combination. Look elsewhere if you want something that will last and is of high quality.
This matched the colors of our RV and looks great, but it's also useful for an RV or any doorway because it absorbs dirt, and we didn't realize how much dirt it had collected until we shook it out after camping. It's nice not to have to worry about cleaning the rug while on vacation. I'm so happy I got it.
This is a bath mat, not a front door mat. I moved it to the baby's room because it looked ridiculous in our entry. It's gentle on the skin and doesn't pile or shed. It's a lovely small rug, but it's not a doormat.
Even when my dogs jump on it before going for a walk, it stays put. Before using it, I washed it according to the instructions, and it appears to collect more dirt and water than my previous mat.
I'm pleased with my purchase because it saved me a lot of time and effort in my search for the perfect rug. This concludes the discussion.
