With a strong enough wind (gale force ha ha), you can make this chime work out of the box due to the crescent moon lighting and the brilliant sound of the tubes. The upgrade however was what I decided to do. With the lid of a CD case as a sail, I spray painted metallic paint on it. A washer is too small and too high to be effective in this case. With pliers, you can remove it from the clapper. Make the corners crimp and the bottom lowered. An ancient clapper was found in my garage, so I made a new one with 1/2" mdf and An electrical insulator was inserted into the hole in the center Putting a crimp on a line. There are two clappers, one on top of the other. As if it were a bell, this thing now chimes. am in love with it!.

This one works both at night and during the day. The chimes are painted on to give the appearance of being "aged", but from a distance it's difficult to Metal is used in this piece, and it doesn't feel cheap at all. The paint looks like it's come off a little bit on one side of the chime but I have it near a bird feeder it knocks into (and we've had some major storms lately) so most likely wouldn't happen if it wasn't hitting Just for this review, I checked and found that the interior of the chimes that hit against the middle disk are in mint condition. If it is exposed to enough sunlight during the day, the stars can shine in a bright golden hue at night. While I haven't seen it all night, I have seen it around midnight and it was still going strong at that time. I have been provided with a small gift card for purposes of this review, however all opinions are mine and do not reflect the opinions of my employer.

Wind chime looking very pretty. It is not as small as I thought it was from the photos. The sound is soothing and gorgeous with a warm tone. Using the solar light is a great idea. As soon as it gets dark, it turns on, and as soon as it gets light, it turns off. It caught my eye so much that I also ordered the matching sun wind chimes.

Other than that, everything is fine. Just thrown in Perhaps packaging and shipping is inherently hard. Just keep that in mind. Today, there was a dramatic wind change and the chimes and the ball broke. To secure the knots, I used masking tape. I also had to work with picture hangar wire for one chime, but it is pretty stiff, so you can't move it much. The threading of that string would be more difficult.

The sound is beautiful and the reflection of the light on our patio ceiling was an added bonus for us. The chime in our fire pit was not working one night as we sat by the fire pit. Fortunately, we discovered that flickering was a sign that it was too sensitive to light when we turned off the fire. I still have no problems with it. The problem has been with us for some time now.
