Questions & Answers

These particular chimes seem to be of a certain tone. The letter G is what I am looking for. ?

In A. you will find both of these. A pentatonic scale in G is the reason for the 60" (G A B D E F#), and a major 7th scale in G is the reason for the 56" (G A B D E G).

What materials are used to make the chimes?

Aluminium is the material of the Bells of Corinth.

Please help me find the key of D flat minor. Though I know it's been made before, the key for the chimes does not appear in the listing. ?

A Major pentatonic scale is used to tune all of the Corinthian bells. In the description of each chime, you can find the scale tuning. There is no D-oriented size in any of the sizes In flats.

CHIMES NEEDED for strong winds? WE FOUND A SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM! The Corinthian Bell windchime is loved by many people in their original form
4/5

I find this hard to believe because I had the same issue others have reported about only hearing them chime very rarely. There are a small number of customers (very few) who report that they make too much noise. The biggest complaint (for the few that do complain, is that these chimes require an extremely strong sustained wind to work properly. As a person. My yard was covered with these floating insects so I moved them around as suggested on the QMT website, hung them at different heights, and hung them in different locations. Despite hunting in various places, including the eaves of our screen porch, a corner of the house, and several tree limbs around the yard, it proved to be fruitless. However, even in stronger winds I would only be able to hear one or two tubes chiming at best. Nevertheless, I still believe that these are the finest sounding chimes money can buy, and when they chime, they are truly magnificent. I really like the tone of the song, and it resonates on for a really long time. My only choice was to wait for an approaching thunderstorm to get these to sound regularly instead of doing this out of pure luck. It's not mine. I found it on a machine shop website. Someone named BigBoy1 makes chimes for a hobby, and they said that there's a rule of thumb to follow when making the sail of a wind chime. catches the wind and causes the striker to move, causing it to strike James Scott's guidelines do not apply to the Corinthian Bell windchime sails. It's amazing, since the quality of these chimes is such that I thought the makers would be expert at producing them. Then again. Following two seasons of trying everything else, I decided I had nothing to lose by trying out this new thing. My Rule of Thumb instructions below provided me with instructions for installing one that I made by untying and removing the original round wind sail that came with these chimes. This is amazing! SAIL MAKING USING A WIND CHIME The following instructions are based on the rule of thumb 1) Find a thin sheet of You can usually buy them at any home improvement or hardware store (stainless steel or aluminum). You can also use aluminum gutter flashing which is found in the roofing department if you are unable to locate bulk sheets. The original sail thickness can be used as a guide to determine the thickness of the new sail. Thinner materials are acceptable but not thicker ones as the sail needs to be lightweight)

2) There needs to be an equal number of square inches on the sail. [For example, if the length of your longest chime tube is 26 inches, then the sail size should be 39 square inches]

3) Make the sail rectangular (not square or round), using the approximate ratio of 1 to 2. [Using the above text as an example, for 39 square inches, the sail would be 8 5/8 x 4 5/8"]

4) Once cut to measure, drill or punch a hole in one of the corners. (By installing a grommet in the hole, any sharp edges will be prevented Having the sail hang at the corner reduces the spin on its own axis (unlike a round or square sail) and gives it a random appearance in the wind)

5) "Slightly arched or bent A very slight bending would give it a more curved appearance). A sail that is parallel to the wind will not become stagnant if this happens. You can see in the photo that there is a slight bend or For your information painted them black to match the chimes, then made them out of aluminum. 6) Do not alter the length of the original cord for your wind chime (just untie the old one and tie on the new one that As a general rule of thumb, I attached my new sail to the boat with a 360 degree fishing swivel, preventing the cord from twisting or tangling while hoisting or lowering the sail. A clip on the swivel allows me to swap out the sail without having to untie a knot if I need to (see photo to the left on this page). The results were As a result of the new sails being There is a chiming sound from each tube now, even in the slightest breeze! I like it! This set of Corinthian Bells Wind Chimes is one of my favorites. I deducted one star because I had to modify the sail. In an ideal world, the manufacturer would provide an optional different size sail for those of us who want to hear the wind However, there is also a flip side. I have nothing against everything being 5 star reviews, but I was a bit disappointed to be sitting on my balcony on a nice breezy day and only getting to hear a single tube gong happen roughly once every five minutes. In the 2+ years I had my Corinthian Bells 50 inch chimes, I did not find them to be as enjoyable as the recordings you can hear on the qmtwindchimes dot com website for that particular model. My sail was not suited to the conditions (until I modified it)

FYI In addition to both Corinthian Bells 50, I also have a Bells of the 24th, 29th, 30th and 31st A pair of inch chimes (both tuned to the scale of A) is perfect for a The new sail for the 50 inch chime is a rectangle 9" high by 4 5/8" wide. It is a new rectangle sail that covers the 29-foot boat I just wanted to let you know that 6 3/4" by 3 3/8" inch chimes are available (Ignoring the sailing issue).

A list of the best windchimes
5/5

I'm so glad! As I admit in many of my reviews, I am critical, so I felt the need to highlight the quality of these windchime. Windchimes of this quality are as beautiful as they are to listen to. These are more affordable than other windchimes and unlike the more expensive brand, they have a great tone. Of course, sound and tone are subjective, but you can view the video to determine which tones are for you. Made in the USA, I am proud to say. They are highly recommended.

I am disappointed
3/5

The quality of the product is great, but I went home today and found that the clip that holds the cords around the loop has broken. There were half a dozen chimes on the concrete porch when they fell. More than two hundred dollars were paid. I will charge you $5. 00 for 50". 6 months is a lot less than what I expect to wait. The seller should get back to me.

The sound is mellow and soothing

Ours had a brand new sail installed. Espresso Fan has provided valuable instructions on making a sail, which I would like to thank for starting me this way. Using the instructions from Espresso Fan's post, my husband made a sail from copper sheet to go in front of the wind chime. It looks really nice. For the chime to sound, a fair amount of wind is required. However, it has a lovely tone and I really enjoy listening to I am lucky enough to have my bedroom in the room best positioned to receive sound from outside the house. The sound awakens me often in the middle of the night, but I am filled with amazing peace when I hear it.

This is the best windchime you can buy
5/5

Having purchased two sets of this particular windchime (my mother loved the sound so much, I gave her the first set) this is the second set of these Corinthian Bell windchimes I have bought. The price difference between this second set and the first set was very significant. In the years since I purchased my first set of Corinthian chimes, I have bought several more sets in varying sizes on Amazon and at In my opinion, I have owned dozens of wind chimes throughout my life and this brand has the most beautiful sound of all the wind chimes I have ever owned (and I love windchimes and have many.

Wind chimes of this quality are truly a joy to hear
5/5

It sounds like bells when they are sounded. Both the appearance and the sound of the Corinthian Bells make them beautiful. There is no wind too slight for them to A lot of the music comes out even when there is a lot of wind. Discordant notes are not heard in the song. Any listener who enjoys lovely sounds should definitely try out these chimes.
