Do you know if this feeder is made in the United States?

I agree! This product is made in Louisiana, in Baton Rouge, LA.

To make it weatherproof, do I need to paint it?

However, it is not protected against the elements even though it is pressure treated wood. If you'd like, you can stain and waterproof it or paint it with exterior paint

Do the drill holes have a certain spacing between them? Do you think this will mount to a 4x4 wood pole?

Mounting is done on four 4x4 posts. The drill holes are spaced 2 inches apart and the width of the top of the feeder is 3 inches. The length of a 5 inch finger

Do you think this would work with Squirrelogs?

Since this feeder is made primarily for corn cobs, you may have to drill another smaller hole in the bottom of the log. It would be better to find another brand of feeder, this one is far too weak.

If the wood was sanded a little more, it would be even more appealing. I find the edges to be a bit Although it's a good looking piece, it's extremely functional as well. Here in the Midwest, we buy huge bags of dehydrated corn off Amazon, and the squirrels and chipmunks go wild. It took them a few days to take their first bite, and now weeks later, they still aren't leaving. In less than one hour, a corn cob will have been gone. My young kids and I had a blast watching that show!.

We are no longer plagued by destructive squirrels

I've dealt with squirrel problems for the last couple of years. They chewed through a beam in our pergola, destroyed our vegetable garden and ate the eggs of birds. I used repellent to break the cycle, but that didn't last very long. Every month, you should apply. The Picnic Table Feeder I purchased was not to feed anything at the picnic table, but rather to deter potential predators. The device worked beautifully on a tree on the opposite side of the yard where it was mounted on some feed corn. It has been weeks since I have seen a squirrel in our pool or pergola area, but we can still enjoy watching them from afar while they eat and play.

There is no better place for squirrels to spend their time! In a nutshell It was so easy to install I just drilled a couple of shallow holes in the bark and screwed it in with the screws that were included

I put it up just this morning and the squirrels are going crazy for it already, and it's not even noon yet. There is plenty of room to sit at the table and eat for the squirrels. Although it's light, and relatively small (it's not the right scale for squirrels to sit and enjoy a snack at an outdoor picnic table), it's fairly reasonable in terms of quality and looks. A design built to meet a specific need. A few days passed before the squirrels realized what was going on, but now they seem to enjoy their corn cob snacks. It is on the light side, but you can get by not screwing it in to anything (no screws come with it) as long as you don't screw it into something. It has a pre-finished backing In the future, it will be easy to secure it since it will be drilled. Occasionally, it gets flipped, but the animals seem to not mind, and they still clean off the cob (which is easily attached to the screw on the table by a screwdriver). I find it to be useful to me as well as the animals.

Ideal if you are starting a new hobby involving quarantines

The 'rona has rolled in and we've all remained at home. We only have free time left on our hands. Covid time! This new hobby of my husband's is feeding the local wildlife, so by buying this picnic table, we wanted to remind him not to forget it. We are having so much fun with this that our neighbors are enjoying it as well. Our squirrels eat each ear of corn so fast that it's best to buy the corn in bulk on Amazon. Their gluttonous bellies are now empty, so they sit and wait until it's empty again so they can overfill them There is no doubt about it, your squirrels will love it, but probably you will enjoy Do yourself a favor and purchase one. You can have one or You'll be able to do it for your neighbors and you'll be on the right track.

A squirrel would not fit inside this box

A squirrel from California can't fit into this box. There is no seating on the bench, so the squirrels eat the food but not the food. As soon as they see a food source, they reach down to grab some. There is no way squirrels could climb this toy because it is so small. The table is even smaller than one for Barbies.

I bought this item and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing items I have ever purchased, it is miniature and nothing like the picture, but I don't want to return it because I've been staying in a high risk area. This is a deceptive product and I hope it will be reviewed and removed from the site. If you would like to credit me back, that would be fine since it is half the size it was advertised to be.
