If you want to remove a corn nail, you can do so. In addition to the corn nail, a hard plastic cover is provided to cover it when it isn't in use so squirrels won't get harmed.

A little red umbrella on top of this squirrel feeder made it unique to me! It has only been about 10 days since I bought the umbrella, but the umbrella has already begun to fall apart. As visible in the photo, one of the spokes has lost its edge, while the umbrella fabric has started to bunch. A feeder that is clogged up with hulls etc. can also be difficult to clean.
In only two weeks of use, the top of the table came apart from the base, leaving the side of the table exposed. In order to put it back together, I will need to use nails. This particular umbrella caught my eye in the picture, so I decided to "splurge" on it. It is not possible to use the umbrella with an ear of corn and the umbrella sits so low to the table that squirrels will not be able to sit underneath it.
It was so poorly constructed I had to completely rebuild it as the pieces of the umbrella were missing. My husband also had to assemble the product from scratch because it was falling apart.
This is a good deal made of pine wood that is not coated. Due to my lack of desire to hang it up, I attached the back panel horizontally for space to hold During the rain, we had to split the corn log into two so that it would fit inside I wrapped the screw cap in masking tape to prevent any potential mouth cuts as the provided screw cap doesn't hold on to corn logs (it's meant for corn ears), so I think it comes with instructions (the small cap fits over the umbrella, the large one fits over For extra windy days, it is a good idea to remove the umbrella. I would describe this garment as being inexpensive, but cute. You get what you pay for both in this case.
I have had the furniture for only a month and already it is falling apart. The construction was poor and I had to hammer in more nails to hold Also, the umbrella just sits there and becomes useless when it is blown in any direction. We do not recommend this.
