The seeds are never treated with pesticides or coated with them. The bird seed from Scott's had a problem with that. Bird seed from Wagners is never a good choice.
As soon as I got my feeder, I bought the "greatest variety" blend. They are crazy for this, but they liked the other stuff too. There is rarely a small feeder that does not have three or four birds at a time. Every bird that comes by for a snack - Cardinals, finches, jays, cowbirds - stops by for a A pileated woodpecker was even spotted once, though it seems like he has since It is in the midwest of the US where I live The United States is divided into several states in an area fairly densely populated and surrounded by forests.
In any case, the birds were not attracted to the seed. In the end, I fed it to squirrels and chipmunks. It wasn't as complicated for them as it was for the
In the mix there is some cracked corn.

This is the order in which the ingredients appear on the bag After the white millet, then the black oil sunflower seed, the stripe sunflower seed, the cracked corn, and then the milo. It seems that the milo seed I received a few days ago is only HALF milo seed, and contrary to what may have been read online, birds do not eat this. The list of ingredients would be in order by quantity, like the ones on grocery store labels. If they are not honest about the quality of their products, such as flour, sugar, etc. , then I did not get what I paid for and Wagner's is not being honest about the quality of their products.
Despite the fact I did not receive the package Amazon showed on its site, the seeds I received seem to be fresh and of good quality. On the label of the picture, it says that 25% of this is sunflower and 25% is According to my package, this isn't the case. That 25% was not in any way contained in it. As we have a variety of birds, Wagner does not have to submit a rejected photo, however an honest photo is required.
Though this blend might be alright, it was not one that was likely to attract a great deal of In search of a cheaper alternative to the expensive sunflower and safflower seeds I had been feeding my birds, I discovered bird seed. I previously had a wide variety of beautiful birds with my previous choice. The birds stopped coming almost immediately after I started using this product. I don't see any cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, house finches or goldfinches anymore. The only birds I saw were sparrows and a A petrified blend of sparrows and squirrels is a sad blend, unless squirrels and sparrows are considered Eastern birds. I find plenty of the small round seeds that are kicked out by my birds and end up under my It was filled to the brim with As a result, I hope I can put some out in an area where squirrels can enjoy them while real Eastern birds can come back to the I ordered a bag and signed up for Subscribe and Save. It didn't take me but a day or two to figure out that this did not The subscription has been cancelled. I'm left with a large portion of this seed that needs to be used. There is no demand for it among birds. The squirrels have now taken it off my hands, so I hope they'll continue to do so.
Our feeder was visited by a variety of birds due to both mixes. In fact, my wife claims categorically that the Wagner's attracts more birds, and she has even put the Wagner's on one part of the driveway and the Supreme on another part of the driveway in order to test her claim. Although the Wagner's did not attract many birds, they did appear to attract an increasing number. The next blend in our portfolio is Wagner's Eastern Regional. A good idea seemed to have been suggested So, it is a combination specially formulated for birds located in the Eastern part of the country. It's my fault. The bird feeder at our house lost half its flock of birds during the two weeks we experimented with this seed. Sparrows and doves were the only ones to remain. It appears that some of this blend is liked by them. Yet, many of the seeds in this Eastern Blend are still too small for even sparrows and doves to consume. My only recourse was to use a broom to sweep up the mess left behind when the sparrows threw out all the seed they refused to As a result, many of our old friends are back with us, and we are back to using Wagner's Greatest Variety. All of the birds that had gone missing along with the Eastern Blend were here today, such as cardinals, blue jays, nuthatches, etc. We all know that good bird seed is expensive, but you get what you pay for, as most things do. Even though the Eastern Blend is cheaper than the Greatest Variety, after all the Eastern Blend waste has been picked up and thrown away, the Greater Variety has turned out to be more affordable. We live in western Massachusetts. you have a recommendation for an outstanding bird seed in our area, please share it with us. Thanks so much.
In the past, I had to always add new bird seed to my feeder every 3 to 4 days prior to using this "Eastern Regional" bird seed blend. We haven't had birds at the feeder for the past two weeks, and they aren't coming as often. Despite the fact that milo is abundant and readily available, the birds are not interested in it (see photo). The birds have eaten the sunflower seeds, white millet and black oil sunflower seed that are available to them. In addition to Milo, the blend contains a number of other ingredients. be glad to return it, but the contents of the bag have already been dumped into the trash and the plastic bag packaging has been discarded.
It looks like it would be perfect for Eastern birds, so I bought It does not seem like they eat it so they toss it on the ground. This is the first time I have ever seen birds, squirrels, and chipmunks run from this product so ferociously! It is understandable that some birds might be picky - but squirrels do not seem to mind! For all the stuff that doesn't get eaten, there's just a big mess under the feeder. For this brand, 80 percent goes to waste since the seeds are not edible or palatable. I have bought several other brands and kinds and all the waste is the shells of the seeds, for this particular brand, 80 percent goes to waste. I only dumped two scoops on the ground the rest of the bag ended up in the trash.
Although the seed is a good price, most of it is Milo seed, which is not a food type for smaller birds. The Wagner company and many others are using too much red and white Milo seed, a cheap filler seed or what is also called sorghum These seeds do not entice smaller birds to eat them. A dove, pigeon, chicken, or turkey is the smallest bird that will consume the seed last. Milo seed isn't a good choice if you want smaller birds and Cardinals to live.
The birds really enjoy The bird feeder has been in use for about two years. I have been amazed at the number of different types of birds that I have been able to attract. You will be blown away by it. The number of bird species here is incredible! Who knew we had so many different types of birds? Seeds should be high quality and free of debris (twigs, papers, etc. ). Beautiful, song-producing insects will enter the seed and feed on the seeds. Several bird species. It has been a great year for birds (and crows and chipmunks tidy up the remains of the seeds that fall Bird watching is one of the most enjoyable things you can do Just try it out, you'll have a few nice, colorful visitors as soon as you do.
