There is just one problem with this product, but it still deserves five stars for attracting cardinals and other songbirds. This binder must be extremely tasty since a raccoon was apparently drawn to it. The next day, I found that the socks had been destroyed by chunks of the product that had been put in birdseed mesh socks. After that I put some in a metal mesh bird feed feeder, and the next morning it had Our neighbor saw him throw it back in our yard, so it appears that raccoon carried it off quite a distance. When the sun was shining, I refilled it for the birds, but when it was pitch black at night, I placed it on the screened porch, thinking I'd defeated him. In trying to get to it, he tore a hole in the screen, but I guess he gave up after tearing a hole in it. He has come back in search of his midnight snack after we put the wildlife camera out. Sadly, we are no longer able to provide this special treat for the birds.

The birds absolutely love this seed! Though there are cheaper alternatives, I'm just as happy as the wildlife is as well.
