I discovered that we had two cracked bases similar to these and that they needed to be replaced. Finding these here saved me a lot of time and effort. They were simple to replace the old ones, though digging in slightly cooler soil was required. My lights are now shining brightly and pointing in the right direction.
Two of these are in my collection. br>Each one was meant to replace a broken ground stake. br>It's a little bigger and deeper than the rest. It has a wide lip, which makes it easier to pound into the ground. br>It comes highly recommended. br>Makes a wonderful Mother's Day present.
Very sturdy and the ideal replacement for a broken stake in our landscape lights, which we were able to replace ourselves for half the cost of having it repaired by a lighting company.
This stake, unlike others I've used, has a gap in the upper ring that allows the wire from your lighting fixture to pass through. (If your stake doesn't have this feature, you'll have to detach the wire from your fixture, run it through the ring, and then reattach the wire to your fixture. ) ) The disadvantage of this stake is that it is not as long as others and does not appear to be as secure when inserted into the soil.
I went on Amazon to look for the base for my outdoor lighting and found it quickly. This isn't a flimsy stake in the ground. It has a long lifespan.
My Kichler outdoor in ground light was replaced with this 8-inch stake. It was exactly what I needed, well-made, and simple to install. I would recommend it and purchase it again.
A great deal on a perfect replacement.
To use with my low voltage lights, it's simple to pound into the ground. For many years, I've used this product to replace old stakes or add lights. I found that laying a small block of wood on top of the stake and pounding it with a rubber ballet was very helpful. Reduce the amount of stress on the stake when pounding it into the ground to avoid it cracking.
