Questions & Answers

Is the guide wire necessary if I have a completely enclosed yard and am not concerned that it will "escape"?

The guide wire isn't required, but a boundary wire must be present; if the boundary wire breaks, the unit will come to a halt.

Is Alexa compatible with it?

Yes, Alexa is compatible with the 315X automower! You can program the automower to start, pause, stop, park, and work for a certain amount of time, among other things. Thank you for thinking of Husqvarna for your lawn care needs outside!

Is the machine, as well as the installation kit and pin code, included? This is for export purposes and must be present in order to avoid further complications. ?

Hello Alva,br>br>When you purchase the Automower 315X with professional installation, you will receive the physical Automower 315X, as well as the PIN and installation materials from your local installer. They'll help you set up your PIN and make sure your installation goes smoothly! If you choose not to have a free, professional installation done after you receive your Automower 315X, I would recommend calling our dedicated Automower support line at (1) 800-315-4747. 849- 1297, and we'll help you get the PIN and installation materials you'll need. I hope this information is useful! Thank you for thinking of Husqvarna when it comes to outdoor power equipment.

Is the boundary wire included or do I have to order it separately?

You can order an installation kit from Amazon, which includes all of the necessary items. Please watch the Husqvarna automower installation video, which can be found by searching the internet. Installation kits come in a variety of sizes to accommodate the size and complexity of your lawn. Once you've seen the video, it'll be very simple.

Amazon is not a good place to shop
3/5

Dealers are the only place to buy. Husqvarna shouldn't be selling these on Amazon because they don't provide any of the promised support (installer will contact you within 48 hours, etc. ). After calling a few dozen Husqvarna customer service and local Husqvarna dealers, I discovered that only about 5% of Husqvarna dealers sell/service/install Automowers. So, even if you buy an Automower from a local Husqvarna dealer, they might not be able to perform the installation that you paid for through Amazon. br>br>As other reviewers have stated, you must first contact customer service to obtain your PIN (which took about 15 minutes). This isn't a big deal, but it's not documented in the quick start guide. br>br>I've had the mower for about three weeks, and I still can't get someone to come out and install the boundary wire (which was included in the price). Despite the fact that my local Husqvarna dealer is required by Husqvarna to provide support, they have refused to come out and install it (they sell/service Automowers), so I'm going to have to do it myself, even though I paid for it. Because of the disconnect between Husqvarna corporate and the dealers, I've been mowing my lawn in the Houston summer heat for the past month while my $2k robot lawn mower sits idly doing nothing. It's most likely a fantastic product; I just don't know because customer service has prevented me from using it since I purchased it. br>br>Summary: br>br> Amazon is not a good place to buy the Automower. Only purchase an Automower from a dealer, as Husqvarna and their dealers provide poor customer service for Automowers purchased on Amazon.

The Robotic Lawnmower is Expensive, but Worthwhile
5/5

Are you considering purchasing a robotic lawnmower but aren't sure how much it will cost? Continue reading for some advice, information, and reasons to buy or avoid one of these devices. Always mulches to keep leaves and debris in the yard; you must rake on occasion if you have treesbr>br>SHOULD I GET A ROBOTIC MOWER? br>br>Now, let's talk about why you'd want to buy one of these mowers in the first place. If you place a higher value on time than money, you'll either hire someone or buy one of these. This is your only option if you want a perfectly level lawn all of the time. As the owner of a robotic lawnmower, one of the surprising things I've discovered is that I forget that a lawn isn't supposed to be the same height all of the time; the only way to tell how it should be growing is to look at the edges; otherwise, you'd never know the lawn is actually growing. I have to manually place the lawn mower on the front lawn because there is a fence that separates the two that I don't want to change. Every other day or so, I put the lawn mower out front, but it's always a surprise when I forget and notice how much the grass has grown, and I worry that the lawn is out of control. Then I notice my neighbors and see that their lawns are still immaculately kept. br>br>Husqvarna provides excellent customer service. My mower's latch was stuck, and it was causing me problems. When I called, they directed me to the nearest service center. Despite the fact that the center was only a 30-minute drive away, they still offered to send it, knowing that these are purchased to save time. Fortunately, as we discussed the problem, we discovered a way to fix it without taking or sending it in. I admire their concern. They also keep track of any issues with the mower so they know what to expect in the future. br>br>WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT OWNING A ROBOTIC MOWER: br>br>Here are some things to keep in mind when it comes to robotic lawn mowers. External sensors are not included in this (the 315X) or many other models. They are unable to "see" anything, in other words. Because all consumer robotic lawnmowers I've seen use low voltage boundary wires, it's critical that they do so. This does imply that you must install a fence around your lawn's perimeter. On the plus side, you can tell the mower where you want it to go and where you don't want it to go. No problem if you don't have a border around your garden; the wire will keep it out. br>br>Because the mower lacks sensors, it can only detect electrical signals from the border wire and bump sensors from the mower's shell. The entire mower is concealed beneath a plastic shell; if the shell is pushed in any direction, the mower is aware of the situation and will attempt to avoid it. This is not a "smart" navigation system, but it is very effective. These mowers use algorithms similar to those used by a Roomba, which use a specialized pattern of random paths to ensure that the entire lawn is covered. br>br>Does the mower have to be fast? No, it doesn't have to be. It never stops mowing. Mine is set to run for 8 hours per day, but it probably only runs for 4 (in between charges). It's allowed to run for 16 hours on weekends, and because it's always mowing, it goes over the same areas a lot, but I've never seen any missed areas since I've been running it. The X series has GPS, so it will recognize areas with narrower paths that lead to grassy patches and will automatically clean them up. Will it bother you if it mows while you're outside? Maybe if you don't like the way it looks. If you're concerned about hearing it, you're in luck: it's nearly inaudible at a short distance (3 m / 10 ft). It's an understatement to say I'm impressed with the mower's quietness. All you have to do now is look for a video demonstration and watch it. br>br>Construction! br>br>Construction! br>br>Construction! b So far it's been a breeze. With the mower, I've had very few issues. The blades (which are basically razor blades) must be changed with a screwdriver as part of the basic maintenance. It takes less than 5 minutes and is very simple. The blades are surprisingly cheap, costing less than $5 for a replacement set for OEM or less than $1 on Amazon. Another semi-automated task is cleaning the mower's body beneath the shell. task on a regular basis Brushes are used to create this look. You can remove the shell (be careful not to damage the front cable for the lights) and quickly brush all dirt and grass out from under the mower. br>br>One last point to mention in the things to know section: the mower is rated IPX4 for water resistance (not PROOF). It's okay to drive around in the rain, but it can't be submerged. The mower is not designed to be hosed down, so don't do it. The worst thing that can happen when it rains is that grass can collect in the wheels, reducing traction. But that's all there is to it. It's happily mowed away through a number of storms. WHY WOULD I NOT GET A ROBOTIC MOWER? br>br>WHY WOULD I NOT GET A ROBOTIC MOWER? The real question is this: br>br> Why wouldn't you get one if they seem to be so useful? The main reason is that robotic lawnmowers are limited in terms of mowing speed and efficiency due to the size of the lawn. When a lawn becomes too large, the cutting capacity of a lawnmower is exceeded. You can find out how much each model can mow by visiting Husqvarna's website. The 315X has a 1600 m2 (0. 4 acres). They can cover a surface area of up to 5000 m2 (1. You'll need the larger mower to cover 25 acres. I would recommend one of the larger ones anyway if you have the money because they are faster and will be out of the way more often. They're also better at dealing with different types of terrain. br>br>Aside from the cost, the fact that these mowers can only mulch is the main reason I can think of why someone would not buy one. They only cut grass with their tiny blades. You'll have to clean up after yourself if you have trees or plants that frequently drop debris on the lawn. Small sticks and leaves are usually sucked up into a regular mower due to suction, but robotic lawnmowers use a spinning plate with tiny blades that do not create suction. It also makes it clear that your lawn will never be bagged. There's no need to cover the mulch because it's so fine that you won't notice it. To keep the lawn clear, I need to go outside and pick up sticks and other debris. Leaves will eventually break down into tiny fragments and vanish or be blown away if not raked up, but I prefer to do so. br>br>If a problem arises, robotic lawnmowers will require assistance. They aren't perfect, and they do get stuck from time to time. Mine has gotten stuck on top of a rock (which I moved) and on a gutter drain (which I adjusted the wire), but in both cases the mower just complains and sits there waiting for help via the mobile app. If I'm at work, it'll have to wait for the rest of the day. These occurrences are rare now that I've adjusted the wire for problem areas, which is quite impressive considering how much it drives around all day every day. The downside is that it's probably not ideal for a remote location (say, a second house) unless you live close enough or can rely on someone to help it if there's a problem. Finally, these robotic mowers are expensive, which is why most people will not purchase one. I think it's worth the money, but it's a matter of weighing it against how much you value your own time; I'm hoping the price drops so that more people can get them in the future. I think they're great devices that save time, and I don't like the noise pollution from regular mowers, but I also like to record ambient outdoor noise, so that's on me for caring about the sound around me; most people won't be bothered. br>br>CONCLUSIONbr>br>Robotic lawnmowers aren't for everyone, but I believe they're for a larger number of people than currently own them. I believe that many people would value the benefits of having a robot take care of their lawn on a regular basis. I would strongly advise you to purchase one of these mowers. Husqvarna is a fantastic brand that genuinely cares about its customers. Their customer service is excellent, but it comes at a cost. If there is a problem, that premium provides you with value in the form of peace of mind. Hopefully, you were able to make an informed decision on a large purchase as a result of this information.

If you don't have a PIN, your mower will be useless
3/5

Because I'm disabled, I purchased the 315x from Amazon in order to keep our yard mowed for our dogs; we don't have a local Husqvarena dealer, so Amazon was my only option; however, I have a problem. To access the menu system, you must enter a PIN, as you are aware. Because I didn't have one, I contacted Husqvarna twice, the first time being directed to a dealer. After explaining that I bought it from Amazon, I was told that I needed to register it and that I would be given a PIN at that time; I did so, but no PIN was given. I've reached out to them for the third time, but they have yet to respond. I currently own a $2000 mower that serves no purpose. Is there anything you can suggest to get me to the menu so I can start the mower? Otherwise, my yard will be so tall that I'll have to hire someone to mow it for me. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Husqvarna contacted me and gave me the correct PIN after I provided them with the Bill of Sale and Model/Serial. I sent it off to do its job after I finished setting it up. Unfortunately, I have some weeds in my yard that cause the Automower to turn and avoid it due to the sensor. All I know now is to spray my yard to kill everything and hope that the grass, not the weeds, grow back in, or else I'll have to pay someone to mow it for me.

Customer service is not up to par
3/5

I purchased the mower and contacted three local dealers to see if they could help me install it. Two of the dealers had no idea what I was talking about, and the third refused to do any installations. I then set up my own perimeter fence and attempted to mow. Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain a pin code in order to start the mower. I went to the website and registered my product, expecting to receive an email in response, but I never did. I had to wait until Monday and called customer service from work, but she said she couldn't help me because they weren't connected to the online product registration. In order to obtain a pin code, I would need to obtain the product serial number. Starting mowing with a $2000 mower is an absolute disaster.
