Is it possible that the muffler isn't sealing properly?

My muffler was running red hot because a local shop screwed up my timing and it needed to be replaced. All of the packing was blown out as a result of this. My new muffler was a perfect fit for me.

And it completes the task for which you have paid. The exhaust pipes do not meet the engine head flush. Even after replacing the gaskets, the exhaust still leaks. There's more junk from China! I wish there was a way for me to give it a zero.
