Stratton engine. Taking my time, I was able to get the old motor out in under an hour. 4 bolts, electrical disconnect, pulley, and other components The motor slid out of the way easily. The new motor was positioned over the correct bolt in holes, and the old motor's bolts were reused. I used some pressure while racheting the bolts in place because they were self-starters. Connected electrical, pulley, etc. Before starting the motor, make sure the oil is checked and filled. I did install an oil drain system to make draining easier. I removed the old muffler that was attached to the front frame and replaced it with the one that came with the motor. After a final inspection, the key was turned. After a few turns, the new motor started right up. I spent about an hour and a half total. Removal and replacement will take 3 hours. Everything about the engine is excellent. I've always loved Briggs small engines, and this one is no exception. They're tough and usually don't cause any issues. My Cub Cadet XT1 was purchased in 2015 and came equipped with a Kohler Courage engine. After just 18 hours of use, that engine failed catastrophically. The internal counterweight dislodged and exited the engine housing through the back. I was digging through my grass for internal engine parts. Since then, I've discovered that the Courage engine line is complete garbage that is prone to failure. I had Kohler replace the engine under warranty, but in the meantime I decided I wanted a Briggs engine. br>br>I got my Cub back with a nice new Kohler engine on it, which I promptly removed and replaced with this Briggs engine, which was a direct fit. The bolt holes were perfectly aligned, the wiring harness was a perfect match, the fuel line fit perfectly, and the throttle cable fit perfectly with only minor adjustments. The only difference is that the old Kohler muffler no longer fits, but that was no problem because I simply used the Briggs muffler. The only real change I had to make was to move the hood mounts forward a quarter-inch to clear the muffler. Aside from that, the switchover was a breeze. Oh, and don't forget to put the exhaust deflector from the instruction manual bag into place! A small section of the Cub hood shroud melted because I forgot about it. Oops! From beginning to end, the engine swap took less than 2 hours.

After eight seasons of mowing our one-acre lawn, my old engine had finally given up the ghost. It was dripping wet from the oil. Because the original 20hp model was no longer manufactured, I purchased this as a direct replacement. This one claims to have 19 horsepower, but I honestly can't tell the difference. It doesn't appear to be any less powerful, and it bolted right on to the frame where the old one had been, with everything connecting in the same places as before. The new bolt holes are not threaded, but the bolts are self tapping, and here's a hint: tapping the new bolts into the holes BEFORE installing this engine on the frame is much easier. I mounted the engine to the frame on my workbench and tapped the threads, which was much easier than tapping them from under the mower frame. Since the last week of April 2018, I've used it on a weekly basis and it's been flawless. Update: May 30th, 2020: The engine is still working perfectly and there have been no issues with it.

Attempting to attach it, I discovered that it can be easily pulled forward and re-attached. a wire coat hangar was used to attach it. The engine arrived on time and in good condition. packaged in a large box with a lot of styrofoam supports This took the place of a Briggs Intek 18. 31Q777 Series engine, 5 hp br>My lawnmower is a Craftsman 42" LT2000 model from 2002, part number 317- 273760 I re- used a self-made I re-threaded the bolts that held the engine to the frame, and I re-threaded the bolts that held the engine to the frame. I used the old engine's muffler assembly, and it took me about four hours to complete the swap using manual hand tools and no lift to raise the mower. It's tough to unhook and re-hook the spring. attach to the right-hand side above the deck but below the frame on the right side of the mower. I was concerned about having to re-enter the workforce. Attempting to attach it, I discovered that it can be easily pulled forward and re-attached. A wire coat hangar inserted from the front of the frame member was used to hold it in place. Everything else was the same as before, and the new engine started right up and sounded great after being filled with the proper amount and type of oil. For a few minutes, there was a lot of thick smoke as the old muffler burned off excess oil.

Mower with a zero-turn radius of 00! So far, everything has gone well. I got a free zero-turn mower with a locked-up engine that I couldn't get to loosen up, so I ordered this engine from B&S as a recommended replacement. Because the original engine's charging system was 16 amps and this one's was 9 amps, I decided to swap out the alternator/stator after noticing that the magnets on both flywheels were the same size. The engine came with everything except oil, including a starter, oil filter, and muffler, so please, for the love of God, remember to put oil in it! br>I just replaced the old fuel line to give it a better start, and it started right up and ran flawlessly. I've only put about 5 hours on it, so even though the oil in the engine looks clean, I'm ready for the first oil change. There's not much else I can say about this one except that it starts and runs, and now I have what is essentially a brand new $4000 vehicle. At the price of this engine, I kept my old coil and the new 9 amp alternator as spare parts in case I ever needed them.

There are no changes to make. Engine was in excellent condition when I received it. After four hours, the old engine was removed and a new one was installed. After the fuel entered the carburetor, the engine started right up and ran perfectly. I would have finished sooner if the cowling hadn't been so difficult to remove. There are four bolts, but I couldn't see the little black screw above the carburetor and had to look for it for a while. (I have poor eyesight. ) Make sure to include the oil, and you're ready to go. I wish all of my projects were as simple as this one!.
