Questions & Answers

Is there a place on the side where a hydraulic oil pump could be mounted?

That's correct. I replaced an old 5 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine with this one. On my log splitter, I have a Stratton engine. Everything fell into place without fail.

I'm curious about the length of the shaft. ?

Length of Crank 2 Crank Diameter 3/4, Crank Height (in.) 7/16, Crank Diameter 7/16, Crank Height (in.) 7/16, Crank Diameter ) 4.

I'm looking for a new engine for my b. what is the b ?

For my tiller, I ordered a Briggs and Stratton. It was a Briggs from China that I received. The fuel tank had been dingy, and the money was eroding right out of the box. That same day, I returned it. It looked exactly like the ones you'd find at Harbor Freight, except it was black and featured the Briggs logo. Briggs has a cheap china line and a better US line; get the US line and make sure the fuel tank is plastic so it won't rust over the winter. Alternatively, you could do what I did and purchase a Honda. There is an organization called Co. This company sells brand new, unopened motors that have been thoroughly tested. My honda is a little smaller than the Briggs I was planning on getting, but it has enough power to run my tiller and only requires one pull start. Unless you don't need it, make sure it has a throttle for adjusting the rpm. In terms of the specific models you'll require. I am sorry, but I am unable to assist you.

How far apart are the bolt mounting holes?

It appears that the mounting plate is standard. My front and rear mounts are three inches apart, with a six-inch gap between them. The manual is available for download on the Briggs and Stratton website. Other important dimensions listed in the Stratton manual are: (length of crank) 7/16"), the diameter of the crank (3/4"), and the height of the crank (4. 17"). Ensure that the crankshaft height is correct: tapered or threaded keyway Check that the engine fits in the available space, height/width, and that the fuel location is accessible, depending on your application.

Made in China
4/5

Made in China. It's the same engine that Harbor Freight sells for half the price, and it's still in good working order. The Briggs were supposed to be U, but they weren't. made.

I decided to read a few of the reviews that had been left, and I'm glad I did
5/5

Purchase products from the United States. I needed to replace the engine in my chipper and didn't want to spend a lot of money doing it. I looked into all of the usual suspects and discovered that the Chinese are the market leaders. I was almost tempted to buy one because it was cheap and in stock. But first, I read a few of the online reviews, which I'm glad I did. If you're anything like me, you'll start with the negative comments and work your way up to the positive ones. (It saves time) and read a few posts about how shafts break off. What difference does it make how well the engine runs if you can't do anything with it? Where are you going to get parts for it, and how long will it take to get them? Briggs, Briggs, Briggs, Briggs, Briggs, Briggs Stratton has been around for as long as small engines have been built, and they have an unmatched reputation, which they lived up to when it came to meeting my expectations. I took it out of the box, added oil and gas, and fired it up on the first pull. I put it through its paces for a few days, chipping up to 4" logs, and it performed admirably. Now for the good news: I only had to pay an extra $45 for the 9. I ended up with a 5hp Briggs instead of the 6hp I would have gotten if I had purchased the 6. Chinese 5 horsepower engine. This Briggs has a Cast sleeve that allows it to be rebuilt multiple times and comes with a two-year warranty. It's made for hard work and will last a long time. br> Save yourself a lot of trouble and spend a little more money on a Briggs. You'll never say things like "I wish I had bought that Chinese engine. ".

A good motor for teaching
5/5

This engine was purchased with the intention of teaching my children how to operate a four-stroke engine. It's a decent motor for its size. It has a plastic cam shaft and an internal governor, which is common in modern engines. The throttle is a governor control mechanism with two speeds in general. Idle speed is around 2700 rpm. It includes a float drain, a fuel shutoff valve, and a removable debris catcher. Both are convenient because they make it simple to remove the fuel from the carb and tank. I can attest to the fact that the crank is supported by roller bearings. A compression reducer on the exhaust valve is a simple way to get started. br>br>I've included a video of it running at full speed as well as a photograph of it mostly disassembled.

For an old McLane Edger, there's new (Monster) power
5/5

My B, who was 22 at the time, was replaced. S 3. This monster gets a five out of ten. Briggs 5 WOW! A Stratton OHV engine! That's a huge step forward! To make it fit my McLane Edger, I had to make one small adjustment. I had to raise the new engine about 3/4" to clear the edger frame with the air shroud. It was simple to do because I used 5/16x3" all-purpose screws. Thread studs into the engine to raise it; it works great! br>br>Now that I have more power, I added two more blades to make a 1" wide swath between the grass blades. pavement. This engine upgrade comes highly recommended! br>br>.

The shaft size is not specified, and it was made in China
3/5

I may have pressed the buy button too quickly, assuming the engine would be made in the United States, but it was actually made in China. The engine's shaft size isn't mentioned anywhere - duh - It's a given. It took me hours to realize I needed a sleeve adapter rather than the $160 centrifugal clutch. I'll let you know if everything goes well or not. Plastic parts were mentioned in the valve assemblies, according to other comments. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. br> I returned it two days later because I was unable to install the centrifugal clutch or use the spacer that I had purchased. br> At Harbor Freight, all of the engines are identical to this one. I'll take my clutch and stuff it into the store. It will cost around $40 to do so. ugh.

This high-quality engine has made me very happy
5/5

My MTD front tiller's 3hp Briggs engine finally gave out after about ten years of service. I bought a new engine that is roughly the same size as a 5. It's only 5 horsepower, but it's a dream to use. Everything was in place and working. The shaft was a little longer than the old engine, but that was no problem after shimming it out. I only wish the seller's description of the base, shaft, and other dimensions had been more accurate. I had to make the assumption that everything was close to what I needed based on the picture.

a lot of silence It was simple to mount the engine on my tiller after I unpacked it
5/5

Oil and fuel were added, the ignition was turned on, and the starter rope was pilled. It was so quiet that I assumed it hadn't started, but it did. Everything went well when I tilled about an acre of land.

It is built to last and runs quietly
4/5

The motor fired up on the first pull and has been running flawlessly ever since. The cost was very reasonable. Because the shaft was 3/16" shorter than the one on my old motor, I had to drill some additional holes 3/16" over to make it work. My Troy-built Pony tiller from 1984. Because of the closer proximity to the frame, I am unable to use my reverse belt. For that distance, I had to take out the reverse pulley. This is the only motor with a long enough shaft to work on my tiller that I could find. I'd rate this motor a five out of five, but I'm not sure who built it.
