It is impossible to thread either of these fittings MALE. It takes them a short time to- It is important to connect with one another and TO one another. In addition to having 1/4" NPT FEMALE threads, the ends of both meet 1/4" NPT MALE threads on a hose, pipe, or extension.

Water doesn't leak from it

It leaked at first after I attached it to my wand, but I have replaced it with more pipe joint compound and it does not leak any longer.
