They leak if there isn't any pressure applied. It's similar to the O- Something is wrong with the ring. When it's under pressure, it doesn't leak at all. My pressure washer, however, begins to leak when I turn it off. I bought two of them, and both of them work. I bought one at a store, and it snaps in by pushing the ends together. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but you don't need much force to snap it in on these.
