Questions & Answers

It appears that the handle can be removed. How has everyone found the handle so far?

I did not remove the handle on mine.

Do these things last a long time?

The plastic is rather thick, so I would say it is fairly durable.

Do the holes measure a certain size?

The range is 500 to 600 I hope that helps. 510 diameter holes will be roughly 5/8" in diameter.

Do you think it is effective at catching sand flees in the ocean?

As far as I can tell, it shouldn't. The sand will need to be flushed out with a bucket of water In reality, only some of the larger ones would get caught, while the smaller ones would probably pass through. Please keep in mind if you are going to use it under water In shallow water, like along a pier, you could use a water ski A good amount could be gathered from it, as it scoops up quite a bit.

Beach hunting is a good use for this
5/5

As I do not live near a beach, I did not find a need to purchase the expensive metal scoop with handles. During my one trip throughout the year I buy this, and it works like a charm. It didn't take long for me to dig over a hundred holes. Aside from winning two rings, I also had a successful I pushed the edge down into the sand and stepped into the back end of the bag in the wet sand that was harder to move. To put it simply, this is very In the hard stuff, I would not recommend lifting with the handle. Do not pull up from the bottom of the mouth, rather, pull up from the top. It did not happen any harm, but the handle seemed to bend--but in reality, it was not.

Finding your treasure quicker has never been easier! In my early days of metal detecting, I spent many days on the beach searching for treasures! In the short time I spent using my small garden shovel, I quickly realised that chasing after a penny for five minutes wasn't The time had come to get the As for the scoop, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I tried this one out
5/5

This is my first time using it, and I was very pleased with it! I enjoyed searching the beach more when I was able to find my target in the first scoop! I like the sturdy feel of it and how light it is it sifts the sand easily and quickly. When I venture into the wilderness with my young children and we dig out anything we find, this will be a great find! I was able to use the scoop without any issue in wet sand since the handle had a bit of flex, so I just pushed the head of the scoop into the sand and lifted it with the main body. My order of this scoop would be placed again in an instant. The pros are Please note
The product was inexpensive, but it was well made
- There are a lot of holes for quick sifting - You can carry the light plastic a long way and it won't interfere with your metal detector. It is hollow on the inside, with a cap covering it, to prevent sand from filling it up when scooping. - It saves you time! The cons are Please note
In the event of filling the scoop with wet sand, the handle will flex.

Green Sand Scoop to be used with SE Prospector This is a model Item 20
5/5

It has held up well after removing lots of 3/4" landscaping gravel from our backyard for days! At first I was hesitant about how durable this product is, but after using it for days it has exceeded my expectations! It worked even better than sifting the gravel along with dirt and debris through one of those mesh screen pans or colanders. Anything made of plastic would normally be extremely aggressive when exposed to 3/4 inch gravel. The metal detector I've just washed off and I'll be taking up metal detecting as my next hobby is going to be metal detecting. I like it very much!.

My favorite thing to do at the beach was shell hunt with it! I bought this item before going on vacation to the beach for a week
5/5

In the water, we like to search for shells, but beach nets aren't strong enough to cut into the wet sand and lift anything that's more than an inch or two below The item in question does not match that description. There is a lot of strength in the plastic and it was able to hold The integrity of this item was not compromised by digging deep into the wet sand under the Gulf of Mexico. The purpose of this was met Only the size of the holes wasn't totally to my taste. It's not really important how large they are, but depending on what you're scooping and sifting, you might think of them as As far as the sizes of the holes go, I would like to have the option to purchase different sizes.

As compared to the hand made tools I have or the other tools I have purchased, this is a nice little shaker. There is a little hole and it sounds a bit strange, but being plastic it is very soft, comfortable to work with, and does not have any sharp edges. I like this tool a lot more than others I have tried. It makes very little sense to most people, but I like it a lot more than the others I have tried. The following note There's nothing wrong with going to a store where they know their products and what they are offering but you can find a lot better deals if you look around and search for a little further than just It seems like I have bought some of these before (now that I think of it). If you want to buy, you may have to spend much more money, but look at all the options you have. I am not cheap, but hook up a broomstick and a hose clamp, and I can use this with my other underwater equipment in the lake or surf and not have to spend A shop associate was working on a $00 unit. I'd say it does the same thing and the stick can be removed so I can use it wherever I want to. Either on land or in If you take away some of the "cool" look from the big treasure find, it would certainly feel less appealing then, but I think it could at least be salvaged. Gads, you're getting corny here, but that kind of tool in your hand is nice, the sift hole size seems to be perfect and you could use it in many ways if you were creative, possibly even beyond treasure hunting. It's fun to shop around for cool stuff, but know what you want and where to Despite that, it is a nice device and I am glad I bought it, it works better than any other I've tried. Crabs from the Southern California coast use it
5/5

There's nothing not to love about it, is there? In southern California, I use it as a sand scoop to catch sand crabs for fishing the surf. My purpose is served well by the device, and it's easy to drain and its holes are the perfect size. I highly recommend this book.

The first time I used it at the beach, it broke! The 18 yr old son of one of my Metal Detecting friends always finds more stuff than I do when we go to the beach! It might not be doing him any good to abuse his scoops, so this plastic scoop broke the first time he used it
3/5

We have made two PVC scoops using 6 inch sections of PVC, and they are holding up well. If you take it easy, it might last for you, but after this one broke, we went on YouTube and viewed videos on how to make a DIY scoop. The only use I can think of for this product would be for Metal Detecting with Water.

The product is great It can be used in many ways
5/5

My granddaughter was surprised when I found her sifting through the litter box with it since I metal detect in shallow waters (streams, creeks, rivers, lakes, etc. I was chagrined to find her doing so. Then she turned to me and said, "Grampa, I'm looking for metal and that's what I do. ". Getting married to him was a lot of fun. The words simply did not come to me. There's no doubt that the little ones are aware of its value. I think the product is great overall It can be used in many ways.
