Questions & Answers

How big is the mesh's gap?

There is no mesh size because this is a gold pan, not a classifier, as you can see in the picture.

Is it made of durable materials?

It's fairly sturdy; it's the only pan I've ever owned, but it's far from flimsy. If you leave it in a hot car smashed between bags, it will most likely become soft and take on a different shape, but you can simply warm it up and re-shape it. If that happened, you'd have to reshape it.

How much will 200 pieces set you back?

Depending on where you need them shipped to, the cost for just the pans would be $1000, but I wouldn't be able to ship them for several weeks because we don't have that many in stock.

Is this going to fit over a 14" Garrett classifier?

It should work, but I don't have a Garrett classifier to test it with. Derek

The 3rd of June in the year of our Lord 2017br>I. Dale. GOLD has been discovered!
GOLD! Of all places, it's in Michigan! Do you realize how good that feels? br>br>Do you realize how good that feels? With that speck of gold on your mantle, imagine how proud you'll be. br>I used to be the same as everyone else. Gold- less. Boring. ECT. But now? I'm all of those things, but I've also discovered gold! Be proud of yourself in ways you never imagined possible. br>br> Purchase this gold pan and complete a project you'll be proud of this summer! br>Are you sure there isn't any gold in your area? I'm willing to bet you've never done so. br>br>Gold can be found in nearly every state in the United States. Do yourself a favor and look it up on the internet. Last but not least, here's why you should do it: br>br> This thing is more expensive than going to the movies or eating at a low-quality restaurant, but the sense of accomplishment and pride you'll get from it could last the rest of your life. br>And if it doesn't, there's always the next time. After that, you can use it as a dog bowel or an oil-absorbing sponge. Alternatively, change the pan.

However, it is twisted
5/5

Updated on August 28, 2018: I put the pan out in the sun for the entire day and it straightened out beautifully! That's something I wasn't even attempting. I was just evaporating some hard water to leave a mineral ring on the pan to help catch flake until it's seasoned (scuffed and scratched from use). In any case, you know what to do if yours becomes warped in the summer. I'm not sure what to say about the winter months, except that I wouldn't put one in the oven! Original review: br>br> I have the green SE pan, which I adore! I had my heart set on the black one, so when it went on sale for $6. 50, I snatched it up. The black one, unfortunately, arrived warped. Still, it's not that bad. Anyway, keep in mind that your purchase will be somewhat risky. Oh, and this is unquestionably a factory problem. My old green pan would look like a taco shell by now if these pans could be warped by the user or shipper!.

Plastic is not a long-lasting material
3/5

This plastic is going to shatter. I'm using it to sift seeds, so it'll probably last, but I don't think it'll be good for gold panning. One of the items I purchased was damaged (not cracked) during shipping, despite the fact that it was double boxed! This plastic has a long fracture and will break like glass. A more flexible plastic would have been preferable. Someone recommended using flour sifters after I bought it. They cost about the same and are made of the same material. These stack nicely, and if you're just sorting seeds from twigs and hulls, they'll pay for themselves in time savings the first time you use them. On top of this tray, I placed a smaller size, followed by the seed filter, and finally a larger size. Simply pour in the seed, and all of the large debris will vanish in a matter of seconds. Remove the top screen and move the seed around lightly to complete the process. More than 95% of the seed debris has been removed. While this isn't suitable for commercial sale, the seed is suitable for personal use and trading. In most cases, a light breeze and winnowing would clear the remaining debris. But, once again, I don't think this plastic would hold up against a heavy object, such as rocks.

ADDITIONAL POSITIVE RESULTS ADDITIONALLY ADDITIONALLY ADDITIONALLY ADDITIONALLY ADDITIONALLY Near small riffles, the edge is flaky and thinned

**UPDATE*
I received two replacement pans, both of which were in perfect condition. The pans were given some bite before being taken out into the field. Because the edges of the large riffles are rounded rather than sharp, I was initially hesitant to use them. Just in case, I panned over a catch pan to calm my nerves. There was no damage!! Although the pans feel flimsy when loaded, they held up throughout the day! The pans are a fantastic value for money. That's a great day's catch! br>br>*************

br> I was panning it around to get a feel for it and compare it to the pans I have now. The large riffle edge feels nice in the hand, but I'm not sure how it'll hold up once it's filled. Rotate it to feel the small riffle edge, and you'll notice the flaws right away. A quarter of one pan's edge has been thinned, just short of the length of the small riffle area. Although the flaw in the other pans is less severe, the pans are still weak in that area and will break under the weight of a fully loaded pan! Hopefully, replacements will be available. But, of course, not before this weekend! Fever should be fed! p. br>br>p. br>br>p. br>br>p The large riffles are used to clear the large and light overburden when the pan is full and properly agitated for the heavies to drop, which would not be an issue if the flaw was on the other side. I can see these cracking or bending into a useless piece of plastic if they're given a full pan of potential. br>br>In order to avoid inconsistent issues, the manufacturer needs to either fix their Moulds or add a bit more material to fill the void in their Moulds. Will update if anything positive happens.

Good, sturdy product that gets the job done for a reasonable price! The pan is very sturdy and large, and it arrived very quickly
5/5

I immediately put it to use and it's fantastic! I haven't found any gold yet, but I have figured out my technique on some tan creek sand. I'm new to panning, but I believe having two riffle sizes in one pan will be beneficial. You can find several good tutorials on how to use these pans on YouTube, and the results vary greatly depending on the technique used. I strongly advise you to watch one of those videos. I was able to sift through all of the larger material and down to the fine sand with a little practice. br>br>The plastic is tough and durable. This is a high-quality, durable item that should last for years. Also, the cost was reasonable.

On my friend's property, I discovered gold
5/5

I went to a friend's place in southern Indiana to go hunting. My friend's property has a large creek that runs through it, and after a day of hunting, we were sitting around a campfire talking about gold hunting, so I told them I had this gold pan. So, the next morning, I decided to give it a shot. I found three small pieces in the pan after about 25 minutes of rummaging around. My pal couldn't believe his eyes when he discovered gold on his land. Forget about hunting (I'd already reached my limit), we spent about three hours playing with that pan, which is very easy to use. I was watching some U-tube videos. I learned the fundamentals of how to use it by watching YouTube videos. This skillet is extremely durable, and the price is reasonable. in addition to being simple to use I'd tell my friends about it.
