This is completely beyond my comprehension as to why so many people are being negative. Because my tongs were thick and difficult to use, I had a great deal of difficulty using them. Then, there is the matter of. The tongs that we used at home were so thin that they couldn't be used. Therefore, I was nervous to read feedback that was negative. In spite of this, I was extremely satisfied with my order, as the sizes, lengths, weights, and thicknesses of them were completely satisfactory to Their thickness makes them thick enough for me to be able to pick up wrought iron grille for my 22" Webber Deluxe yet thin enough so I can pick up even thin fish files. They were both the right size and length for me and I needed both of them. Additionally the handles are great, because even when I cook over hot heat without gloves on, I never feel hot. There is no way of knowing if they will last 10 years. The problem is. It is a certainty that these are going to last for a long time The tool has been in heavy use for 2 years, which is more than I'd expect from a tool of this price point. Another small, yet important feature is the easy locking/unlocking feature. The locking and unlocking feature is triggered by simply pushing or pulling the hanging ring at the end of the bag.
