Yes, they can be washed in the dishwasher. My own has been around for a number of years, including being accidentally left out in the rain multiple times.

It should be possible for you to pick up both large and small objects with these tongs. They can also be used as a smaller spatula from time to time. This is a rather large item, but it is heavy duty and of high It's a good one, I think

This tool comes in handy for all the grilling I do. A flat side slips under your food, while a ridged side grabs on to it. The spoon or fork I used to use a lot is rarely used now. This piece of equipment has a heavy-duty construction so that you can handle larger cuts of meat well. The extended reach helps keep your hands cool in the summer. Plastic isn't my preferred material for the locking mechanism. Steel would have been better.
We love the heavy duty stainless steel and spring lock, and it's really easy to clean.
The grill tong has only been used a couple of times but so far it seems to be a good product. Since I started cooking, I have used a variety of grill tongs with different results. My experience says they work, at least for a time. The problem has always been the rivet holding the two sections in place at the pivot spring points. As a result, the cheap rivet eventually breaks and the tongs are no longer usable. It would be nice if makers used a bolt/nut/washer arrangement but I suppose that would cost more and it would also have a tendency to loosen over time with parts likely to fall out. It's not the first tong I've used that uses a rivet to hold the halves together, but the Broil King's rivet is much better quality and thicker than any of the others my experience with previous tongs has led me to believe. As far as I can tell, it seems to give confidence but we will see if it wears out like the others. The design of these tongs seems excellent to me as well. Moreover, the tongs are made from a heavier metal and have rounded teeth on one side, while the flat side is like a spatula. Tongs like this work well for burgers and steaks because one can slide them under food items like that with ease using the spatula side and grasp them with the tooth side. If the item is heavy, a second tool or hand will still be required to lift it to prevent it from falling. It is only the plastic trim on the pivot end of the tongs that covers the spring joint that can be considered a negative about these grill tongs. An immediate removal of that piece was required because it was press fitted. Nothing to worry about, it has no impact on the functionality of this tool, nor does it have any effect on its appearance. The grill tong has so far been a great buy for me.
It wouldn't be worth it to use these big tongs for me to cook enough racks of ribs. They are nice and sturdy, but they are not the ones I reach for first. My little hands find them difficult to manage too. They are good for an extra pair, but they are not the ones I reach for the most. You might feel right at home with these if you're 6' tall and have hands just right.
Grilling with these tongs is easy and fun. I like how strong they are and how easy it is to lock them.
It is one of the best products I have ever bought, very good quality and much longer than I expected, Flipping burgers is not an issue with this product since the one side is flat and wide. Overall, this product does what it is supposed to do.
