However, in order to keep the screws in place on the boat, don't leave them in place while using the device. Although the retention washers hold them in place, they will lose their grip. Be very careful when removing the screws holding the grill in place, as it is easy to lose them. I had to go to the hardware store and buy more screws just because of this. I used some adhesive furniture pads and cut them to size to match the rail mountings. I glued them to my rail and tightened the clamps without scratching my railing. If they made grill screws that don't fall out, a pad under the mounting rail would be perfect. As long as you tighten it enough, it will not slip out of place.
I'm very pleased with it. By putting an O-ring on the screw, I was able to fix the problem of screws falling out A ring goes over each of the thumbscrews on top of the grill as a retainer so that it cannot fall out even if it comes apart. Furthermore, the thumbscrew handle has been changed from tri-screw to The knob is designed to be clover shaped with a round knurled surface. Knurled round ones are hard to grip, so they're not recommended. In the photos on other reviews, you can see the two styles. Apart from that, this is an excellent.
Grill is perfectly held by the mount. It has not slid or warped in any way. There will be a stain on the railing as a result. In an attempt to protect it, I placed rubber around it, but it did not work. The following suggestion You may want to consider something other than screws for mounting. The grill hangs over the railing and every time I remove it to take ashore for a BBQ or to leave the boat unattended, I have to take it off the railing and unscrew it over the ocean. By the grace of Poseidon, I once dropped a screw on a lip at the bottom of the transom and it landed there. The way things are going has to change.
This mount is built like a tank, as stated in the headline. The first time you mount it, you will need a hex bit, which is The screws on my Kuuma Pro were too tight to adjust by hand. The mount holds my Kuuma Pro rock solid, even when the sea is rough. There is one note to be made The bolts are tightened after almost every trip, and I've developed the habit of doing so. Those just loosen a little bit when they are being worn, but not so much as to concern me it will come off completely. It's for that reason that I plan to add some thread tape this next season. It is a very high quality mount and a very solid one. Trust the company you are buying from.
There is a need for two brackets and the length needs to be increased. Each bracket was fabricated with an additional length. I think the plastic cover over the bolts is a nice idea, but it is not very After I tightened the bolt by hand, the bolt came off.
The stainless steel and aluminum screw assembly holds grill securely, but threading stainless steel into aluminum in a saltwater environment won't survive over the long run, the aluminum will corrode and the stainless allen head screws will The allen head screws were replaced with stainless through bolts after the holes in the aluminum were drilled out.
This grill and mounting system are definitely recommended.
I am satisfied with the way the bracket fits and holds the grill on the rail. It needs to be made sturdier, especially when the seas get rough unexpectedly. Increasing the length of the attachment end to the rail is needed. My rails where you normally fit the grill are either too short or too high as a result of it fitting too low on them. Unless you use the smaller grill and your rails are mounted at the top of the bracket, this is not an ideal bracket.
