Do The only reason I bought this trash was because Amazon no longer sent FOGO to my area. Primo was not a good replacement for me, as I thought it would be. They don't appear to use natural hardwoods, but scrap wood. Until the coals are grayed over, this grill gives off a nasty black smoke. In addition, this grill should not be used When you try to prepare food before the coals are completely ignited, you will end up with black suet on it.
There is an increase in the size of the prime lump. I was impressed when I first started using Primo Lump Charcoal. We have very few unusable pieces and a lot of big Whether through Amazon or elsewhere, it seems like each bag I purchase (through a retailer) is getting Charcoal is becoming more prevalent in the pieces I find. I find more and more other junk and bark as well. A variety of materials are used, such as insulation and Construction debris is apparently being used by Primo to reduce costs. It used to be my favorite brand, but their quality has decreased and their work has become less attractive. Additionally, because many pieces aren't charcoaled and the bark is near the flame, quite a bit of smoke is produced instead of just fuel, and the smoke has a bad odor. It would be best to avoid Primo until they have it back on track.
As I was using this type of charcoal for the first time, I have no prior experience with it. The charcoal I used to cook with just came from this charcoal can. I just got a ceramic BBQ cooker designed like the Kamado style and have used it a few times now. Weber Lighter cubes that I got from Amazon worked well, and it lit up fast. My experiences are positive with the lighter cubes, but not so positive with this lump charcoal, especially for the price. The coal does burn hot, with my cooker reaching over 700 degrees easily, but it seems to burn faster than what other Kamado style users say their favorite charcoal burns. The price is too high for me to.
I purchased a bag of eggs to use in my costco vision egg cooker for the first time. were a few smaller chunks, but for the most part, the size was consistent. I then tried the home depot cowboy brand, and it impressed me how much better the Primo was.
Dieters could not really tell any difference in taste, just the overall size of the chunks in the Primo versus the cowboy, which had chunks that were too big and needed to be cut down.
There are no lumps at all, only pebbles!.
Overall, I believe the price is great for quality charcoal, I just wish I had two bags instead of three.
This brand seems superior to the more common brands available in big box stores, but is more expensive than the common brands. Because Primo charcoal is only available at about 25 miles away, it was convenient to order on Amazon.
As a result of using several bags, I have been surprised by how effective they are. This candle burns extremely well and is easy to light. Smoking meat for several hours without adding any more has never been a problem for me. My hiking has occasionally resulted in finding a rock, but that comes with the territory. The mix of pieces is a good mix of large and medium.
