Can you get as many rocks as you can? There is a round propane gas fireplace pit used for camping that we would like to fill with more rocks. Would you consider them to be of a decent size?

I bought two bags of this lava rock, each weighing about 14lbs, to go with my gas grill that measures 24x36. The rock fell like a blanket across my grate, leaving a uniform 4 inch layer of rock. The reason for not doing so is inexplicable. After placing them in my gas grill, I continued to add them as they dispersed. My shopping bills have dropped quite a bit now that I've found a little place locally where I can buy them at a cheaper price. They seem to be available at Ace Hardware too, though we don't have an Ace here in town.

It was a dream come true to have these rocks. The price is great and the lava rock is genuine! I have aquariums and the rocks I use for them are very porous. It is approximately 1 inch thick for each rock. The rocks are large, measuring between 5 and 3 inches. I recommend them for anyone with an aquarium or who wants to do some hardscaping. I was happy to see that the packaging was sealed tightly in an airtight bag. Thank god for that. Thank you for your kind words!.

This is what I use to bake sourdough bread in the oven. In the oven I use these by pouring water on top of them before loading my bread. I find that this gives me a lot of steam. It was a good purchase for me.

Wearing out of moving parts is not a concern. Do you think lava rock would make a good That stuff just works, and it probably works The system also contains no moving parts! LOL I used it to help diffuse heat from the flame on my Masterbuilt vertical smoker after a reviewer recommended it. I use it for that purpose and it seems to function well. The device provides even heat and can be hosed down after use to remove some of the drips. Honestly, I don't believe this is necessary to clean up fish drippings before smoking pork ribs, but it can be done in order to clean out the drippings. If you will be making your first batch of food, be sure to "season" it first. In the end, you just have to boil it for 30 minutes over a high flame, then let it cool down. Then it is ready to be used for cooking. You'll get rid of any bad chemicals and fumes from the rocks after doing this.

There are many different sizes of rock. It is used to filter the water in my aquarium. The work goes as expected, however there is a bit of time spent breaking up the rock into smaller pieces. *3/2/2020*
I put the lava rock as the media into a canister filter and noticed that the water turned red and brown. I lose a lot of my fish after that, including Aquarium filter media should not be made of this material.
