Questions & Answers

Is lighter fluid required when you use a lighter?

Hello and welcome! As a result of the chemicals in lighter fluid, we do not recommend it. If you intend to use charcoal, we recommend using a starter strip/square that does not contain chemicals. You can place starter packets on top of the charcoal bed and light them. They will stay lit for a few minutes and get the charcoal going!

The class is going to last for four hours or five ?

There can be a substantial difference in burn times depending on how the charcoal is lit (how fast, whether any other materials are used, etc.). On average, we see a 5 hour burn time It would take less time for a core to burn at its peak temperature It is similar to any type of You asked a great question! Thanks!

What type of wood burning stove can these be used with?

The reason for not doing so is clear to me There is not much smoke produced by them.

What is the average number of logs in a ?

Hello and welcome! The number of students is between 18 and 28 With each 11lb box of CHARBLOX, you are given 22 blocks.

The perfect way to prepare food for backyard barbecues
5/5

Use this charcoal for cooking fish rather than hamburgers, chicken, or steak - it won't work for either. This is where lump charcoal will be of great benefit to you. It is best to smoke charblox slowly over a long period of time. I use this charcoal because it is clean, low in ash, and the sticks catch fire quickly, yet it burns for 4 or 5 hours This amount of time is good for smoking a brisket or a shoulder of pork. Four out of five, of course The recommended time for smoking such meats is five hours. To continue smoking, your would need to add more Charblox at the end of each four-hour period, but not as often as you would with lump charcoal, which can burn out in under.

I am unhappy with the purchase of Charblox
3/5

I am sorry to have to write this review for you. Despite my satisfaction with the purchase, I was unsatisfied with the quality. As soon as I received my package, I was eager to use and/or burn it during the weekend. During the early morning hours of Saturday, when I woke up to light the smoker. In the box of broken pieces, I saw that only one block was in solid form, all others were cut into pieces smaller than two inches in width. My problem is that I simply was not able to get them to burn evenly. This box was broken up in its entirety, and I was not satisfied with it.

Smokers will find this to be excellent
5/5

My Lang 36" Hybrid Deluxe Patio Smoker is made from durable stainless steel. Whole 30lb piglets can be smoked in an oven for 13 to 15 hours I cannot eat seven racks of baby back ribs at once if I have 15 pound briskets. The 215 may have to be maintained I will be maintaining at least 225 degrees Fahrenheit for a period of 7-10 hours. I need a reliable product that will heat up quickly and create a bed of coals for a consistent temperature to maintain for a long period. For the fire to stay at a consistent temperature, the coals need to be able to burn new logs as I add them. There is no need to worry about this product. I find it to be a high-quality.

A slight shift in setup is necessary to make it work
4/5

The pros include There is a large amount of heat generated by them over a long period of time. Using Weber smokers, the consistency of the sticks made it relatively easy to maintain an even temperature. I did a brisket that took 18 hours I managed to keep the meat at the same temperature throughout. The following cons The process of getting ready for cooking took a while. I had to wait a very long time for the food to heat up. I also had a little difficulty piled them in a way to ensure the chunks burned all the way through. There were times when some sticks were going out after half had been burned off, so I had to move them.

In general, this is a very good product. It burns long and produces an especially even amount of It would not take me long to learn how to work with it if I practiced.

You should only use this for smoking at low temperatures
3/5

It takes about an hour for the water to become While I see how this might work with a smoker, I can't see how it would work with grills.

This is a hot and long burning type of fire
5/5

A long time is needed for charcoal to begin to burn. As soon as you get it out of the chimney you should stack it up and let it sit for a couple of hours. Make sure you air up a fan or a fukidake (tube used for blowing on fires). Once the coals have been used, put them in a container to use again or put them in an airtight container to extinguish them. Putting a newly burned piece of charcoal in the bottom of the chimney, along with a new bit of charcoal on top, will be easier to start. When the stack is heating up, I will put it inside the chimney.

In general, it is a lot like.

Getting hot is not a problem
3/5

It takes a long time for it to warm up past 300 degrees F. Not so good for grilling, but great for smoking.

Nuts did not burn any hotter than normal
3/5

My cooking method of choice for the past 14 years has always been charcoal. It is easy for me to calculate how much charcoal I will need for my grill based on the length of the With the blox loaded in my chimney, I lit the fire. I would have needed a very hot fire to cook over a traditional bricket for well over 90 minutes if I had used traditional brickets. In the chimney, the blox appeared to have a difficult time surviving. For them to get ashed over, I had to use twice as many fire starters. Flip them over and make sure the ends are facing the same way. The blox arranged themselves in such a way that I could hold my hand about 8" above them for as long as I would like. This is so not cool! The cost of this would only be one dollar with regular charcoal I turned my computer off after two Despite being very low in heat, the blox stayed lit longer. I may have needed twice as much charcoal to get the temperature I was after, but then the price is still way too high for this charcoal. A hotter burn for a longer period of time is advertised. As far as I can tell, this is not.
