No matter how you slice it, I like it. The software I was using was B&C The Lump of B Hardwood is made of After reviewing positive reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to try the Best of the West Hardwood charcoal after being dissatisfied with the sparking and popping that resulted from it (extremely strong smoke). I have my thoughts after cooking for the first time 1) Yes, the bag has a few very large pieces and a lot of smaller ones, as you mentioned. The big pieces of meat will have to be broken up since I'm using a small grill. I find it somewhat annoying, but it's not that big of a This is a fast and easy way to read. 3) Easy to light, with little fluttering or popping. 3) Burned as hot as you could expect from *
4) Took a bit longer than I am It is good to see this. **5) Moderate smoke, not overwhelming, but not light. A softer version of the B&G Food still tastes good even though the flavor is not as strong as it could be. It is also good to hear this. 6) Little ash, not that hard to clean. I think overall the value is also excellent, and the quality is very good. In the process of cooking, I will update this review if I learn more.
Quality is inconsistent. Those are some serious words. There's nothing good about this stuff. Recently bought and tried out a big green egg because I have been grilling on my big green egg for over 4 years. As a first detail, the lumps are different sizes. Some are as large as half tree branches while others are as small as Furthermore, snap crackles pop all the way to the bottom of the pot. I wouldn't call it the best of the west or the out there. Don't do it.
To start these, I used two tumbleweed firestarters. It's as easy as that! The coconut logs are simple to make, have a commercial quality, and I've tried many kinds of lump, regular, and coconut logs. Great product! I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. . . 5.
One log was in the bag, which was about 14" long, one inch thick, and several pounds of charcoal dust and chips the size of small corn flakes spread out throughout the bag. After this experience, there was no lump in my throat but it felt as if there were. My first thought was that it was a I asked Amazon to intervene once, and the seller wrote to say they'd replace the item for me. Two weeks have passed and no response has been received.
However, there are huge chunks that are literally whole branches (2+ inches wide) or small stumps (the stump I had in my first grill was about 7 or 8 inches long) that make it nearly impossible to put the grill on and take a long time There are also tiny thin wafers that burn up and become cold ashes in just a few minutes before you are even finished Due to the different sizes of the charcoal chunks, twice I have had to add charcoal to my grill midway through after starting out with the same amount of Possibly if I had a fire pit or tried to cook on a much larger grill, but I am in no rush. (I have a barrel grill that's about the size of a tall slender tree.
There is a great deal of variation in the sizes of the pieces. The wood in the chimney is almost almost entirely cut into small pieces that fall right off. Recently there were immense hunks of charred wood about the size of my head. The bottom third of the chimney is almost entirely broken wood. The large pieces were difficult to break up with a hammer, as I had to smash them in pieces. I do like the way it burns and the smell it emits when a suitable sized piece is used, but I can't always use the appropriate size.
In the first bag, everything was fine. It looked as if the second bag had been beat up to Since I have been grilling on my Big Green Egg for 17 years, this is the first time I have had to "fight" with anything to start a fire. I promise not to repeat that mistake. Your money is not worth it.
A brand even more expensive than this one was recently purchased by me. Compared to the more expensive merchandise from Brazil, this is far superior. Pieces are huge and there is not nearly as much dust disintegrates at the bottom of the bag as before. Additionally, shipping was very secure, as the package was double bagged. It was a pleasure doing business with I would definitely buy from them.
