well, it's getting better every day! It reads 11 when my dead cell battery is dead. Using the solar panel, the battery was generating 25 volts, hitting 13 volts on charge. In absolute sunlight, the temperature is 69 degrees. As the day is going on, volt is hitting between 13 and 14 volts. The number 0 and the number 13 are the same. There is a 3 volt DC supply. While this is good, it will take the battery a full day to charge. It is safe to assume that there are no harmful gases. If I were to return this unit for the 20 watt model, I would consider it.

With a Mighty Mule automatic gate opener I have been using it. The MM circuit board was hooked up to it following the installation instructions. When I noticed that it wasn't charging the battery anymore, I stopped using it. I noticed the LED was blinking green when it should have been blinking red, so I emailed Sunerpower for warranty service on a Sunday evening in hopes of receiving a response within Within an hour, I got a reply. That was pleasantly surprising. The process succeeded thanks to a fellow named Mason who suggested I hookup their panel directly to the battery terminals instead of using the MM circuit board.
That worked great! An orange LED now blinks red indicating that successful charging has occurred. As a result, the panel was unable to recognize the battery because of the combined circuit protections. My issue was resolved in a very efficient manner and I was very pleased with the quick response and resolution. It was a pleasure working with you,.

After I received it on June 19, the panel worked fine, even under full sun
UPDATE It has started working, but since it is advertised as being for marine use, and the bracket isn't aluminum, I will only give it a three-star rating. Despite it being painted steel, I will let you know how it turns out.
It is really easy to use and works well! * I would not rate it five stars as the frame and support bracket are not aluminum (we use it to maintain the batteries on our boat). * Second update after 8 months, the metal sports rusted out, the aluminum panel frame is still functional, but the Other than the rust on the outside, the unit works perfectly.

I am satisfied with the quality of the panels and with their performance. I found the instructions to be very clear, and it was very easy to hook up. In my boat, I installed one for each battery to maintain a steady level of capacity while the boat is parked. Having been installed for only two days, both of those have been overcast and rainy. They charge from what I've seen so far on the LED indicators. intend to install a small Wh meter when the weather clears up so that I can see what type of input I am receiving. Following 2 days of sunshine, the controllers show an LED that is solid green - indicating that the batteries are completely In light of the fact that the batteries had been sitting for over 2 months without a charge, I'm quite satisfied with The purpose of having these in storage is specifically to keep my batteries topped off, and they appear to be doing a good job at that.

The sun is shining in upstate New York today. one lead on top of a slightly discharged lead acid battery and apply a high quality FLIR non contact clamp (inductive) DC ammeter to the other lead. A 36 amp power supply. I read 13 volts on the voltage meter. Charging like that is a crime. I will have 17 watt hours more energy in one hour if I continue this. The quality of the product is excellent. For emergency items such as charging a battery to run a 4 watt UV sterilizer or recharging hand held radio batteries, the power was needed. I just wanted to mention something. A shadow on this pane can cause the current to drop a little or a lot, depending on where it is placed. A small panel doesn't need to worry about this issue. The connection between the individual little cells is most likely the cause of the blob. I just thought it would be good to mention. As long as it doesn't cost me too much, I'll accept that performance without a problem. I have ordered a total of six of these over the past few months.

I was very pleased with how well it was constructed and how easy it was Through the winter, I attach it to the support beam over my trailer/lawn tractor carport and use it to keep the battery fully charged in my lawn tractor. In addition, I appreciate that a connector was provided that uses washers as it fits perfectly onto my little tractor As for the cord itself, it is probably about eight feet long, so I didn't have to buy the extension cord. This is something I recommend to anyone who does not have easy access to an electrical outlet but needs to charge a battery.
