My RV battery will stay charged when we aren't using it when I buy this. I got this product and the instructions said not to use it externally, contrary to what other reviewers had said. One customer claims he uses it on his boat and it is outside in all types of summer weather all year round. After being initially disappointed, I decided to seal around the outer edge of the glass screen in order to prevent any water from entering the area. I've been using silicone caulk since I bought it about a month ago, and it has done a great job so far. This charger keeps my 24 V deep cell RV battery fully charged without having to use any kind of regulator. This product will likely last quite a while. I am puzzled by the precaution to use it only on the interior, but perhaps they just wanted to be safe! If I had to buy it again, I would.
