Questions & Answers
Yes. That is exactly what we did. Used pvc piping to drill a hole in the upper back.
The barrel will be unable to hold any more water once it has reached capacity. Through the gap, the excess water drains from the barrel's top.
It was all molded into a single unit. In the middle of the top, there's a 4x8-inch removable plastic screen. This is a great product, and I don't think it's available without the molded top.
No, because there is no upper hole or attachment to connect to another barrel for overflow, I don't see how to connect.

I'm missing the top grate, which they claim they don't have. I made a $40 offer. 00 was told to go to a local store and purchase it. You are unable to locate the component. It's nice that I have to rig something on a brand new product; that's what you get (or don't get) when you order online.
This one appealed to me because it was more attractive and had a smaller capacity than most. If the barrel is full, the water will flow through the hose and fill a container. I use it to store gray water, and since we haven't had much rain lately, it's usually about half full (at least 20-gallon capacity). 25 gallons of water). I can only get water out by laying the output hose flat on the ground, which makes getting my hard-earned gray water into a watering can or bucket impossible. Purchase one with a raised base and a standard spigot at the bottom. It'll be such a pain to empty and return this!.
A weak seam causes the barrel to leak after 4 inches of water is added. It's a lovely design and it looks great, but you'll need a gallon of Flex Seal to fix the bottom, or you'll have to make do with four inches of water.
The design is very appealing. The only criticism I have is that the spillover spout should be smaller to prevent so much rainwater from running off. To divert more water into the barrel, I intend to set up a blockade.
Installing the top grate is extremely difficult.
In the yard, it looks great.
Although the attachments are flimsy, they do their job. It's just a matter of being cautious with the valve outlet.
These were purchased in pairs. One works perfectly, while the other leaks due to a loose connection to the hose at the bottom.
