ALL PARTS FOR LINKING TWO CONTAINERS ARE INCLUDED – a fill hose that extends from 6 to 31 inches, a hole saw, water seals, and instructions; tools needed include a drill, pencil, level, and safety glasses and gloves.
EASY TO INSTALL IN MINUTES - simple, illustrated instructions make installation as simple as 1-2-3; not for use with metal drums.

Questions & Answers

Isn't it more efficient to connect the hose to the barrels' bottoms rather than the tops for drainage?

This kit is for connecting a second rain barrel to the first. This allows the first to fill before moving on to the second. That is why the tops of the barrels are connected to it. Once you've installed a spigot on the bottom of both barrels, you'll be able to only drain one at a time. Both barrels will drain out of one barrel's spigot if this is installed on the bottom. I hope this has been of assistance.

Will I be able to connect this to a 4-inch pvc pipe to create a first-flush system prior to installing my rain barrel? Will the adapters be able to create a tight seal around the curve?

The Hose Seals are designed to fit into one of the following configurations: A 5" hose made with a holesaw will fit perfectly in a 55 gallon plastic barrel. I'm not sure why you consider this to be 4" tall.

Where do I put the hole on the opposite side (3" or 4" down) if my fill hole (attached to downspout) is 3" down from the top of the barrel?

Mine is a half-inch lower than the others. It performs admirably. My downspout diverter will stop filling when the water level reaches the inlet hole, so 1 inch down ensures that the other barrel is filled.

My rain barrels are in close proximity to one another. They've got a sealed top on them. Do you have any connection kits that are less than 6 inches long?

Yes, there is a length-adjustable expandable hose. It can easily be adjusted from 4 to 20 inches.

I doubled the amount of rainwater I had
5/5

I had one barrel set up already, but I wanted to add another. Instead of using the connector at the top, as the directions suggest, I chose to use it at the bottom. It would work either way, according to logic and physics. I didn't have to install a second spigot at the bottom of the second barrel because I put it at the bottom. It took me about five minutes to put it together, with the help of the included hole saw drill bit. It's working perfectly, despite the fact that it rained heavily shortly after I installed it. The rubber fittings are snug, and only time will tell if they begin to leak, but so far there have been no issues. My only criticism is that the price is a little high for what you get. I was planning on making my own for less than half the price, but I decided that my time was more valuable, so I purchased this unit instead. It's functional, attractive, and leak-proof.

Its adversary is extreme weather
5/5

The first of the hoses is beginning to fail after seven years of service. Its downfall is extreme temperatures. I've done everything I can to protect the hoses, but it's only a matter of time; they do a fantastic job of moving water from barrel to barrel, but nothing lasts forever. I only wish I had bought a bunch of these when they were only $6 each.

The accordion hose snapped in half due to its inflexibility
3/5

The accordion hose broke in half due to its inability to bend properly, as stated in the headline. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I don't want to deal with returning everything. This must be a very inexpensive item, so I'm disappointed that I won't be able to get a replacement without difficulty.

Hose from the dollar store would be too small
3/5

I couldn't get the hose into the rubber grommets without it leaking because one of the hose ends was too large to fit inside. When you try to put the hose in, it folds over. I've tried lube and sealants, but I still can't get it to fit properly without leaking. Purchases should be avoided.

With drill bit, this is an excellent connector kit
5/5

The connector kit does exactly what it says on the package. My friend, who is a contractor, installed it. He was surprised to find a drill bit included in the package, which made installation a breeze. Since the barrels were set up, it has rained a dozen times. Having an extra 100 gallons of water to water my plants is fantastic.

There are some pieces that are missing
3/5

I was missing a hose to connect to the rain barrel, which was the piece I was most interested in. Two seals, a hole saw, and instructions were the only items received. Without a hose, you can't connect anything. This item will be returned.

shoddy workmanship - Purchasing is not recommended
3/5

It's all nonsense. I followed the instructions to install this in my rain barrel (which was fairly simple). A smooth plastic hose and fitting has a lot of leaks because of its nature. Both ends leak, resulting in rain barrels that don't work. Choose a product with metal fittings instead.

This is a fantastic rain barrel connector kit
5/5

This kit appeals to me a lot - Everything you'll need is included. I bought another one because I was so pleased with the first. I would strongly suggest it. Installing it was a breeze. It's great that it comes with a hole saw blade that's the right size. That's fantastic!.
