Although I felt the need to wash it, it can only be washed by rinsing out. It is because the top does not come off (or does not come Thus, I filled the tank with a large amount of water. I noticed water on the floor about 15 minutes later as I was walking by. There is the same 1/8" hole within two inches of the top lip on both barrels. Can you tell me what I need to do? My emergency water is over 400 pounds each, and they are not sealed, so there is no way to prevent bacteria from entering. It would be great to get an answer from Amazon regarding In addition to my laminate floors being damaged, I am not going to go through the labor and time it takes to empty and return them.
Buy this product and don't be fooled! The purpose of this product is to store water for my family over the long term. A photo showed it had two plugs on the top that could be used to seal it, and no holes on the sides, so it was marketed as a container for storing drinking water. Inside the box, I found a blue barrel with only one plugged hole and a GIANT hole drilled into the top about four inches in diameter. A plastic chunk hung off one side of the board with uneven edges. The drill wasn't professionally done and it was ugly. A plastic screen was on top of the hole and held in place by four screws inside the barrel. These screws drilled straight into the barrel, creating four more holes that were drilled to let in air. Two holes approximately 1/2" in diameter were drilled into the side of the barrel. In one of the holes, about a third of the way up the side of the barrel, and in the other, two thirds. My job required me to dig out two screws that screw into the barrel side and are intended to screw into the I am afraid they would be one more weak spot in the barrel that could compromise attempts to seal it. If they were drilled as carelessly as the top hole I am concerned they would compromise attempts In the bottom of the barrel were several handfuls of plastic shavings. Since I cannot tell what has been in the barrel before I'm afraid to even put water in it. The price range is $161 to $200. I purchased this drum on 06/27/19 for $74 and it is outstanding. I have not experienced any problems with the product. It was once listed for 99, and it is currently for $161 as of 04/05/2020. I regret to inform you that something is wrong.

There wasn't enough research done on this- Although it was not clear from the initial listing that there is no way to open the entire top to clean the barrel or empty it by putting a pump inside, it is what it is. This item is not free for return (understandably so, as it is a large item), and the shipping cost is not worth the hassle of returning It will be easier to remove the lid myself since the barrel needs to be open top.
