Questions & Answers
I bought three of these blue water storage barrels and am considering ordering another. They are BPA free, according to the manufacturer. These barrels are being used for emergency water storage (Amazon also sells a water preservative that lasts 5 years). My barrels arrived in good condition, with no major dents, cracks, or odors. I also ordered a "bung" wrench from Amazon to remove the lid's two screw-type openers. This barrel's lid cannot be removed in its entirety.
Supposedly, that is. I keep mine inside, and if I had to leave it outside, I'd cover it immediately.
Weep holes are located on the top rim of the barrel and are used to drain water from the top of the barrel; they do not compromise the barrel's integrity.
No, they're empty; you can fill them with your own artisan water or any other type of water.

The molded seams on the bottom of three of the four barrels I purchased are not fully molded together, leaving large gaps, almost as if a hot knife had just cut it, but it's the bad incomplete seam not being molded together correctly, and since a 55 gallon water barrel weighs about 450 pounds, it'll leak like hell when you fill it. To let crap like this go out the door and then pay to return it and a 20% restocking fee subject to their approval is terrible quality control.
I wouldn't put my dead cat in there because it stinks so bad. If you try to return it, they'll charge you an arm and a leg plus restocking fees, and they'll tell you that you'd be better off selling it locally yourself rather than returning it.
It regained its proper shape after I filled it with hot water. It's ideal for rainwater collection. I use it as part of a vegetable and fruit dechlorination system. Fill with tap water, add 5mL aquarium water treatment, and run through a gravel filter to remove ammonia and nitrites. br>The resulting water, like rainwater, supports soil bacteria. This system would be incomplete without the barrel.
It's the second time I've done it. They are used to store drinking water in the event of an emergency. It does exactly what you want it to do: no leaks, no usage, tight seals.
He keeps two saltwater aquariums and makes rodi water for them. It's a lot easier with this container. He installed a pump to aid in the removal of the water and he adores it.
I bought two of these to keep deionized reverse osmosis water on hand for mixing reef crystals in saltwater fish and invertebrate tanks. They're fairly sturdy, and the caps are well-sealed. If you want to open the screw caps, you'll need a barrel wrench. I didn't have one, so I ordered one from Amazon in plastic, which works perfectly.
Water barrels made of plastic. It appears to be of good quality. I like the two screw caps on top for filling and pumping fluid out.
I'll be buying more from this seller in the future! br>The following is an update to the previous review: br>I've already purchased four of them and plan to purchase more. In every way, this is an outstanding product!.
